Leader-Waiau.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Cheviot and Amuri, commencing at its junction with the Picton-Christchurch Main Highway at the Leader River Bridge and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction along the right bank of the Leader River to Mendip and then in a westerly direction via Long Valley Road and terminating at its junction with the Waipara-Kaikoura via Culverden Main Highway at Waiau, being a distance of 20 miles 8 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108064, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
HIGHWAY DISTRICT No. 14.
Picton-Christchurch.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Kowai, Rangiora, Eyre, and Waimairi, commencing at the northern boundary of the Kowai County at the Waipara River and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Amberley, Leithfield, Waikuku, Kaiapoi, Belfast, and Papanui, but excluding that portion in the Kaiapoi Borough, and terminating at the northern boundary of the City of Christchurch, being a distance of 31 miles 23 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108065, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured scarlet.
Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Borough of Kaiapoi, commencing at the northern boundary of the said borough at the junction of Beach Road and Cookson Street and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Cookson Street and North Road and terminating at the southern boundary of the said borough at the junction of North Road and Ohoka Road, being a distance of 1 mile 25 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108067, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured scarlet.
Christchurch—Kumara Junction.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Paparua, Malvern, and Tawera, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch-Timaru Main Highway at Church Corner and proceeding thence generally in a north-westerly direction via Yaldhurst, Aylesbury, Kirwee, Darfield, Sheffield, Springfield, Cass, and Bealey and terminating at the western boundary of Tawera County at Arthurs Pass, being a distance of 94 miles 12 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108065, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Christchurch-Timaru.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Waimairi, Paparua, Springs, Ellesmere, and Selwyn, commencing at the western boundary of the Borough of Riccarton at Clyde Road and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Sockburn, Hornby, Templeton, Rolleston, Burnham, and Dunsandel and terminating at the south-eastern boundary of the Selwyn County at the Rakaia River, being a distance of 31 miles 9 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108065, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
Also all that street or portion of street in the Borough of Riccarton, commencing at the eastern boundary of the said borough and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Riccarton Road and terminating at the western boundary of the said borough, being a distance of 1 mile 20 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108066, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue.
Christchurch-Lyttelton.—All that road or portion of road in the Heathcote County, commencing at the Christchurch City boundary at Ferrymead Bridge and proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction past the Mount Pleasant Telephone Exchange and along the McCormack’s Bay Causeway and terminating at the north-western boundary of the Sumner Borough, being a distance of 1 mile 10 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108066, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured scarlet.
Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Borough of Sumner, commencing at the north-western boundary of the said borough and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly and southerly direction via Main Road, Grafton Street, Wakefield Avenue, and the Sumner-Lyttelton Road and terminating at the southern boundary of the said borough, being a distance of 4 miles 38 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108069, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured scarlet.
Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Borough of Lyttelton, commencing at the northern boundary of the said borough and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via the Sumner Road and Oxford Street and terminating at the junction of Oxford Street and Norwich Quay, being a distance of 2 miles 20 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108070, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured scarlet.
Lyttelton-Motukarara.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Mount Herbert and Wairewa, commencing at the western boundary of Lyttelton Borough and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Governor’s Bay, Allandale, Teddington, and Gebbies Pass and terminating at its junction with the Christchurch-Akaroa Main Highway near Motukarara, being a distance of 12 miles 16 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108066, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured violet.
Also all those streets or portions of streets in the Borough of Lyttelton, commencing at the junction of Oxford Street and Norwich Quay and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Norwich Quay, Simeon Quay, Brittan Terrace, and Governor’s Bay Road and terminating at the western boundary of the said borough, being a distance of 2 miles 70 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108070, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured violet.
Sockburn—Rakaia Huts.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Paparua, Springs, and Ellesmere and the Town Districts of Leeston and Southbridge, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch-Timaru Main Highway near Sockburn and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Prebbleton, Springston, Irwell, Leeston, and Southbridge and terminating at the southern corner of Rural Section 9294, Block IX, Southbridge Survey District, near the Rakaia Huts, being a distance of 31 miles 73 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108065, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.
Darfield-Arundel.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Malvern and Selwyn, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch-Kumara Junction Main Highway at Darfield and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Glentunnel and Glenroy to the southern boundary of the Selwyn County, being a distance of 25 miles 40 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108065, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured carmine.
Christchurch—Governor’s Bay.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Heathcote and Mount Herbert, commencing at the southern boundary of the City of Christchurch at the intersection with Colombo Street and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Colombo Street, Dyers Pass Road, the “Sign of the Takahe” Tea-house, and Dyers Pass and terminating at its junction with the Lyttelton-Motukarara Main Highway, being a distance of 5 miles 20 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108066, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
Hilltop Junction—Akaroa via Long Bay Saddle.—All that road or portion of road in the Akaroa County, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch-Akaroa Main Highway at Hilltop and proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly and south-easterly direction to the junction of the Long Bay Road, and thence in a westerly direction and terminating at its junction with the Christchurch-Akaroa Main Highway near Akaroa, being a distance of 18 miles 32 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108066, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured black.
Christchurch—Selwyn Huts via Lincoln.—All that road or portion of road in the Counties of Halswell, Paparua, and Springs, commencing at the south-western boundary of the City of Christchurch at the Heathcote River Bridge and proceeding thence generally in a south-westerly direction via Halswell Junction Road, Sabya Road, Dawson’s Road, Ellesmere Junction Road, Collins Road, Days Road, and Hursts Road and terminating at the south-eastern corner of Section 20610, Block XII, Leeston Survey District, near the Selwyn Huts, being a distance of 16 miles 44 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108065, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured brown.
Cashmere—Ferry Bridge via Heathcote.—All that road or portion of road in the Heathcote County, commencing at its junction with the Christchurch—Governor’s Bay Main Highway and proceeding thence generally in an easterly direction via the Port Hills Road and terminating at the Christchurch City boundary at the Ferrymead Bridge, being a distance of 6 miles 42 chains, more or less; as the same is more particularly delineated on plan P.W.D. 108066, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, and thereon coloured black.
