Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Dunedin) Order 1940.

Pursuant to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency Regulations 1940, and pursuant to a requisition in writing received in that behalf, I, Patrick Charles Webb, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Dunedin) Order 1940.
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 14th day of October, 1940.
  3. This Order shall apply to all establishments engaged in the sale by retail of oil fuel within the area comprised in the City of Dunedin, the Boroughs of West Harbour, St. Kilda, and Green Island, and the Peninsula County.
  4. On and after the coming into force of this Order all such establishments except as hereinafter provided shall be closed during the whole of every Sunday, and shall on every Friday be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 7.30 a.m. till 9 p.m. and closed at all other times on every Friday and on every other day of the week be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 7.30 a.m. till 6 p.m. and closed at all other times on the said respective days: Provided that on every working-day immediately preceding a day generally observed in such area as a whole holiday all such establishments shall on every such working-day be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 7.30 a.m. till 10 p.m. but shall be closed at all other times on the said respective days.
  5. In alternate weeks as hereinafter set out, commencing upon the coming into force of this Order, the establishments hereinafter named shall be exempt from the operation of this Order.

Second week .. Safety Parking and Petrol Station, Limited, 450 Moray Place, Dunedin.

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture for Sale of Footwear.

An application has been received from A. Hayden, Auckland, for a license to commence to carry on the above industry to the extent of manufacturing stuck-on leather slippers and sandals and stuck-on shoes.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry in respect of this application and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 10th October, 1940.

Notice to Persons affected by Applications for Licenses under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.

Manufacture for Sale of Radio Receiving-sets.

Applications have been received from—
(1) A. and W. McCarthy, Dunedin, for a license to commence to carry on the above industry.
(2) Amalgamated Wireless (A'sia.), Ltd., Wellington, for an extension of the scope of the company’s Radio Manufacturer’s License covering the assembly only of radio receiving-sets, so as to include complete manufacture thereof.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry in respect of these applications and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 15th October, 1940.

Taking of Fish for Sale.

An application has been received from A. V. Putan, Waihi, for a license to take fish for sale at Bowentown, Waihi, by means of the fishing vessel “Active,” using long and hand lines.

Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry in respect of this application and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 10th October, 1940.
