Notice of Intention to take Land for Road in Block XIV,
Ngaere Survey District.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take the
land described in the Schedule hereto for road: And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land required to be
taken is deposited in the post-office at Eltham and is there
open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking
of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in
writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the
first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public
Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be
taken:—

deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Notice of Intention to take Land on Cuvier Island for a Radio
Beacon.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a radio
beacon—and for the purposes of such public work the land
described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land
so required to be taken is deposited in the office of the
District Engineer, Public Works Department, Auckland,
and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected
by the execution of the said public work or by the taking
of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to
the taking of such land, set forth the same writing, and send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken:
9 acres 2 roods 5 perches.
Being portion of Repanga or Cuvier Island. (Auckland R.D.).

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
99943, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

Oil Fuel Retail Hours (Taumarunui) Order 1940.

PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency
Regulations 1940, and pursuant to a requisition in
writing received in that behalf, I, Patrick Charles Webb,
Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours
    (Taumarunui) Order 1940.
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 14th day of
    October, 1940.
  3. This Order shall apply to all establishments engaged
    in the sale by retail of oil fuel and situate within the Borough
    of Taumarunui.
  4. On and after the coming into force of this Order all
    such establishments except as hereinafter provided shall be
    closed for the sale of oil fuel during the whole of every Sunday
    and shall on every Saturday be opened for the sale of oil
    fuel from 8 a.m. till 10 p.m. and closed at all other times
    on every Saturday and on every other day of the week shall
    be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 8 a.m. till 6 p.m. and
    closed at all other times on the said respective days: Provided
    that this Order shall not apply to such establishments on the
    day immediately preceding Christmas Day, on Boxing Day,
    on the day immediately preceding New Year’s Day, on the
    day immediately preceding Good Friday, on Easter Saturday,
    on Easter Monday, and on the day observed as the King’s
    Birthday.
  5. In every successive week commencing upon the coming
    into force of this Order one of the establishments hereinafter
    named shall in the weekly rotation hereinafter set out be
    opened for the sale of oil fuel on every Sunday from 9 a.m.
    till 6 p.m. and on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
    Thursday, and Friday shall be opened for the sale of oil
    fuel from 6 p.m. till 8 p.m.

Order of Rotation.
First week P. W. Reardon and Sons, Ltd.
Second week Bangatira Service Station, Ltd.
Third week Jutland Motors, Ltd.

  1. Nothing in this Order shall affect the supply at any time
    on the authority of an officer of Police by the establishment
    which is open during the particular week until 8 p.m. in
    pursuance of clause 5 hereof of oil fuel that is urgently required.

PURSUANT to the Oil Fuel Retail Hours Emergency
Regulations 1940, and pursuant to a requisition in
writing received in that behalf, I, Patrick Charles Webb,
Minister of Labour, do hereby direct as follows:—

  1. This Order may be cited as the Oil Fuel Retail Hours
    (Waiuku) Order 1940.
  2. This Order shall come into force on the 14th day of
    October, 1940.
  3. This Order shall apply to all establishments engaged
    in the sale by retail of oil fuel within the area comprised in
    the Town District of Waiuku.
  4. On and after the coming into force of this Order all
    such establishments except as hereinafter provided shall
    on every Friday be opened for the sale of oil fuel from 7.30
    a.m. till 9 p.m. and closed at all other times on such day
    and on every other day of the week be opened for the sale of
    oil fuel from 7.30 a.m. till 6 p.m. and closed at all other
    times on such days but shall be closed for the sale of oil fuel
    for the whole of every Sunday and for the whole of every
    New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac
    Day, day observed as the birthday of the reigning Sovereign,
    Labour Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.
  5. In every successive week commencing upon the coming
    into force of this Order one of the following establishments
    hereinafter named shall in the weekly rotation hereinafter
    set out be opened on Sundays and on the above-mentioned
    holidays from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. and shall be closed at all
    other times on such days.

Order of Rotation.
First week Hall and Hyland.
Second week O. Henry and Co., Ltd.
Third week Richardson Bros.
Fourth week Walker and Loomb.
Fifth week A. C. Welsh.
Sixth week S. C. Sycamore.

  1. Nothing in this Order shall apply to the establishment
    of S. C. Sycamore in respect of the supply of oil fuel on
    Sundays or holidays to Flexman’s Motors, Limited.
