THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
and the Rural Housing Act, 1939, and all other acts and
powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Thames County
Council hereby resolves:—
“ That, for the purpose of providing for the payment
of interest, repayment of principal, and other charges
on the Thames County Rural Housing Loan, £10,000,
1940, to be raised by the Thames County Council for the
purpose of relending to farmers for rural housing under
the Rural Housing Act, 1939, the said Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of five hundred one-
thousandths of a penny in the pound on the rateable
value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable
property in the County of Thames; and the said special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and be payable on the thirtieth days of
March and September in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of 25 years
or until the loan is fully paid off.”

the above company will be held in the Town Hall Supper
Room, Raglan, on Saturday, 5th October, 1940, at 11 a.m.,
for the purpose of laying before the meeting the liquidator’s
report and statement of accounts for the twelve months
ended 26th June, 1940, and giving any explanation thereof.

COUNTY OF HAURAKI PLAINS.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Hauraki Plains County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“ That, for the purpose of providing interest and other
charges on a loan of £40,000, authorized to be raised by the
Hauraki Plains County Council under the above Act for
Rural Housing, the said Hauraki Plains County Council
hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of a
penny (7d.) in the pound on the rateable value (unimproved)
of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Hauraki
Plains; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct
copy of a resolution passed at a meeting of the Hauraki
Plains County Council held on the 11th day of September,
1940.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Wellington City Empowering and
Amendment Act, 1919, the Public Works Act, 1928,
and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and their
amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington City Council
proposes, under the provisions of the above-named
Acts and all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it
in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely,
for an access-way between Riddiford Street and Nikau Street
in the City of Wellington—and for the purpose of such public
work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to
be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of
the land so required to be taken is deposited in the public
office of the Town Clerk to the said Council in the Town Hall,
Cuba Street, in the said City, and is there open for inspection
(without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours and
that all persons affected by the execution of the said public
work or the taking of such land should, if they have well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing within forty days from the first publica-
tion of this notice, to the Wellington City Council addressed
to the Town Clerk at his said office.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.
I, COLIN CLIFTON FOOTE, M.B., Ch.B., 1940, now
residing in Waipukurau, hereby give notice that I intend
applying on the 27th September next to have my name
placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New
Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my
qualification in the office of the Department of Health at
Palmerston North.

wound up, and that Mr. PAUL EDMUND LOUIS RENTON,

such winding up.”
