THE following list of teachers is issued under the authority of the Minister of Education in accordance with the requirements of the Education Amendment Act, 1924. The list contains the names of—

Election of Member of Westland Land Board.—Result of Poll.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Hokitika, 17th September, 1940.
I, BASIL KING, Returning Officer for the election of a member to the Westland Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations thereunder, the result of the poll taken on the 17th September, 1940, for the election of a member to the Westland Land Board, to be as follows :—

Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Retail Sale of Motor-spirits.
AN application has been received from J. Kilkenny, Ltd., for permission to transfer five petrol pumps from premises at the corner of Palmerston and Lyndhurst Streets, to a new position at premises in Russell Street, Westport.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau of Industry in respect of this application and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 4th October, 1940. All representations must set out clearly the grounds for same, and include a statement showing the average monthly throughput of the business of the person making the representations.

Taking of Fish for Sale.
APPLICATIONS have been received from A. W. and B. S. Jensen, Motueka, for licenses to take fish for sale at Nelson and Motueka by means of the fishing vessel “E. 1,” using set and drag nets and long and hand lines.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decisions of the Bureau of Industry in respect of these applications, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 3rd October, 1940.
