Jan. 11.]\nTHE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.\n39\nTHE OTAGO CENTRAL ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.\nRESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.\nUpper Clutha Valley Advances to Consumers Loan, 1938,\n£5,000.\nIN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that\nbehalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Otago\nCentral Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows :—\n“ That, for the purpose of providing the principal,\ninterest, and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorized\nto be raised by the Otago Central Electric-power Board\nunder the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of\nproviding assistance to consumers in the Upper Clutha\nValley Special Rating Area of the Otago Central Electric-\npower District the said Otago Central Electric-power\nBoard hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-\nfifths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value\n(on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property\nof the said Upper Clutha Valley Special Rating Area\nbeing the area described in the first paragraph of the\nSchedule to a Proclamation appearing in the New\nZealand Gazette of the 16th day of September, 1937,\nat page 2172 thereof; and that such special rate shall\nbe an annual-recurring rate during the currency of\nsuch loan and be payable yearly on the first day of\nAugust in each and every year during the currency\nof such loan, being a period of ten years or until the\nloan is fully paid off.”\nI hereby certify that the above is a correct copy of a\nresolution passed by the Otago Central Electric-power\nBoard at a meeting held on the 19th December, 1939.\nV. GALT,\nSecretary.\nAlexandra, 29th December, 1939.\n737\nWAIRERE ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.\nRESOLUTION AMENDING SPECIAL RATE.\nWHEREAS on the 12th day of October, 1938, a resolution\nwas duly passed by the Wairere Electric-power\nBoard making a special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny\n(Td.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis\nof the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the\nWairere Electric-power District for the purpose of providing\nthe interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of\nfourteen thousand pounds (£14,000) authorized to be raised\nby the Wairere Electric-power Board for the purpose of\nfurther reticulation of the said Wairere Electric-power District\nand for carrying out such other works, undertakings, and\npurposes authorized as aforesaid :\nAnd whereas it has been ascertained that the said special\nrate of seven-sixteenths of a penny in the pound will not be\nsufficient to meet such interest, sinking fund, and other\ncharges :\nNow, therefore, the Wairere Electric-power Board, in\npursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on the Board\nby section 23 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, hereby\nresolves that the said special rate of seven-sixteenths of a\npenny in the pound shall be and is hereby amended by\nincreasing such amount of seven-sixteenths of a penny in\nthe pound to one-hundred-and-thirteen-two-hundredths of a\npenny (113d.) in the pound.\nThe above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting\nof the Wairere Electric-power Board held on 20th day of\nDecember, 1939.\nR.
