Under the Mining Act, 1926.

APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
To the Warden of the Karamea Mining District at Nelson.

P URSUANT to the Mining Act, 1926, the undersigned
Edwin Alfred Barker, of Lake Roto-iti, and Jesse
Francis Frederick John Baxter, of Howard, Miners, hereby
apply for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule
hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the
purpose.
Mark on pegs : "B.B." on blaze.
Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 21st
November, 1939, at 10 a.m.
Date and number of miner's right: Barker, 28th June,
1939. No. 70862; Baxter, 10th August, 1939. No. 70868.
Address for service : Maginnity, Son, and Samuel,
Solicitors, Nelson.
Dated at Nelson, this 22nd day of November, 1939.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal
points; also description of land traversed—e.g., unalienated
Crown land, private land, or otherwise: Situated upon
Section 3, Block V, Motupiko Survey District, held under
L.I.P. by John Edward Tomlinson, Kikawa, in Chinaman's
Gully, a tributary of the Motupiko River starting at junction
of first branch of Chinaman's Gully Stream, extending down
stream on right bank 10 chains approximately, to a dam
already constructed, thence 20 chains to terminus at site of
prospecting operations approximately 10 chains above
junction with Motupiko River.
Length and intended course of race: 30 chains approximately, northerly.
Points of intake: At junction first branch Chinaman's
Gully Stream.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Three months;
£100.
Mean depth and breadth: 1 ft. by 4 ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: Five.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Prospecting by
sluicing.
Proposed term of license: Five years.

PARAPARA DEVELOPMENT, LIMITED.

IN LIQUIDATION.

Notice of Voluntary Winding-up Resolution.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of shareholders
of Parapara Development, Limited, held on the
14th day of December, 1939, the following resolution was
passed as an extraordinary resolution:

"That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities
continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind
up same, and that the company be wound up voluntarily
also that Mr. A. P. S. Bell be and is hereby appointed
liquidator to the company."

Creditors are requested to forward any claims they may
have against the above estate to the undersigned before the
31st January, 1940.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LANDS FOR ROADS AND
CLOSE PORTIONS OF ROAD.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the
Counties Act, 1920.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Raglan County Council
proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned
Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, altering the
course of a road—and for the purpose of such public work
the lands described in the First Schedule hereto are required
to be taken, and further that it is proposed to close the
portions of road described in the Second Schedule hereto.
Notice is further given that a plan of the lands so required
to be taken for roads and of the portions of road proposed
to be closed is deposited in the public offices of the Clerk
to the said Council at Ngaruawahia and is open for inspection
by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons
affected by the execution of the said public work or by the
taking of the said lands or by the closing of the said roads
who have any well-founded objection to the execution of
the said public work or to the taking of the said lands or to
the closing of the said roads must state their objections in
writing and send the same on or before the 28th day of
January, 1940, being a date not more than forty days from
the first publication of this notice, to the Raglan County
Council at the Council Chambers, Waingaro Road, Ngaruawahia.
