Examination Anchorage altered.
Position: Lat., 36° 48′ S.; long., 174° 49′ E. (approx.).
Alteration: The anchorage is to be moved 323° one mile from its present position.
NOTE.—The anchorage will not be shown now on Chart No. 1970.

Notice to Mariners No. 43 of 1939.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—AUCKLAND HARBOUR.
(1) Fairway and Anchorage for seaplanes: Buoy established.
(2) Protected Anchorage discontinued.
(1) Position: Lat., 36° 50′·5 S.; long., 174° 47′·2 E. (approx.).
Details: The following area has been established as a fairway and anchorage for seaplanes:—
Commencing from the inner end of the Eastern Breakwater, thence along the western side of the breakwater to the lights on the north end; thence by a line 241° 700 ft. to a red and white vertical-striped buoy; thence by a line 179° 1,470 ft. to the breastwork, Eastern Reclamation.
(2) Previous Notice: No. 36 of 1923 hereby cancelled.
Details: The protected anchorage for yachts and launches in Mechanics Bay has been discontinued.

Notice to Mariners No. 44 of 1939.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 7th August, 1939.
NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—AUCKLAND HARBOUR.
Prohibited Anchorage.
Cable beacons to be erected.
Cable beacons to be discontinued.
Position: Depot Point, lat., 36° 49′·9 S.; long., 174° 47′·9 E. (approx.).
Details: Anchorage is prohibited in the vicinity of the telephone cables laid between Point Resolution and Devonport.
The eastern boundary-line of the prohibited anchorage will be marked by beacons with white triangular-shaped summits in line 009°. The rear beacon will be situated 060° 568 ft. from Depot Point and the front beacon 828 ft. from the rear one.
The western boundary-line will be marked by similar beacons in line 009°. The rear beacon will be situated 275° 150 ft. from Depot Point and the front beacon 515 ft. from the rear one.
A fixed red light will be exhibited from the rear beacons and a fixed green light from the front beacons. The existing beacons situated between the above beacons will be discontinued. The beacon notified in Notice No. 58 of 1938 will not be erected.
NOTE.—No further notice will be given.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—AUCKLAND HARBOUR.
Devonport: Protected Anchorage altered.
Previous Notice: No. 51 of 1927 hereby cancelled.
Position: Sandspit Beacon, lat., 36° 50′ S.; long., 174° 48′·5 E. (approx.).
Details: The boundary-lines of the anchorage have been altered and the area is now enclosed by a line 207° from the shore end of the Defence Wharf to the Devonport Sandspit beacon; thence by a line 280° 2,150 ft.; thence by a line 009° 360 ft. to the new rear cable beacon which is being erected in a position 060° 568 ft. from Depot Point.
