THE following is the result of an extraordinary election of the elective members of the Government Railways Superannuation Fund Board, constituted under the Government Railways Act, 1926.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 9th August, 1939.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned property is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 11th September, 1939.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 13th September, 1939, at 10 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.


SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Mangonui County.—Awanui Parish.

(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.*)

SECTIONS 4 and 5: Area, 175 acres 2 roods 26 perches.†
Capital value, £175; half-yearly rent, £3 10s.

  • Rental exemption is conditional on improvements to the value of £17 10s. being effected annually during the concession period, in addition to the improvements required in terms of the Land Act, 1924.

† Subject to slight alteration after survey.

Weighted with £12 10s. (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising half-share in boundary fencing.

This property is situated on the Kaitaia–Oturu Road, via Church Road, five miles from Kaitaia. Access is by metal road to within half a mile of the property, the last half mile being formed only. Property is all undulating to easy hilly, mostly ploughable, and is covered in titree scrub and fern with patches of gorse and ½ acre of bush. Soil is poor clay resting on clay; watered by swamps and springs. Property is not suitable for use as a separate holding but would work in satisfactorily with other land in the locality.

Education Reserve in North Auckland Land District for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned education reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, at 2.30 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, 19th September, 1939, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVE.

City of Auckland.

Lot 17 of Allotment 83, Section 16, Suburbs of Auckland: Area, 1 acre. Upset annual rental, £12 10s.

This section is situated in Manawa Road, off Victoria Avenue, Remuera, and is three or four minutes from train-route. All modern conveniences are available. It is suitable as a good building-site, the section being flat to undulating with an easterly aspect.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned Education Reserves will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, at 2 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, 14th September, 1939, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1928, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

These are vacant lots situated on the southern side of Emerson Street, Napier, occupying a good business position in the town between Clive Square and Dalton Street.

Each lot will be subject to an easement 5 ft. 6 in. wide along the common boundary-line for a depth of 130 ft., giving a common right of way 11 ft. wide. The purchasers’ solicitors will be required to prepare a suitable clause or clauses for insertion in the leases providing for the right of way.
