Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Herbert Henry Thorne,
Herbert Oliver,
Godfrey Hall,
William Thwaites,
Llewellyn Derrett,
Hugh Alexander Boyle, and
William Meredith Sexton Chapman

to be the Hororata Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, at half-past one o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Hororata Domain Pavilion as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

HORORATA DOMAIN.—CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
RESERVES 1589 and 2217, Block XII, Hororata Survey District: Area, 226 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or less.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section forty-four of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

Arthur Hyland,
Carl Malcolm Hyland,
Charles Tennant Smith,
Gordon William Mexted, and
Tom Craddock

to be the Thornton Marine Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the residence of Mr. A. Hyland, Thornton, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—THORNTON MARINE DOMAIN.
SECTION 3, Block V, Awa-o-te-atua Survey District: Area, 6 acres 1 rood 10 perches, more or less.

Extending the Open Season for the taking or killing of Opossums Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization District.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of August, 1939.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred on him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby amend the Order in Council made under the said Act, dated the tenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, and appearing in the New Zealand Gazette Number thirty-two, of the eleventh idem, at page 1445, by deleting the words “1st September” appearing under the heading “Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization District” in the Schedule to such Order in Council, and contained in Condition Number one under the said heading, and by inserting in lieu thereof the words “15th September”:

And all licenses issued to take or kill opossums in the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatization District under the authority of the said Order in Council are hereby extended until noon on the said fifteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine.

Withdrawing Land from the Operation of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of August, 1939.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty-two of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may, by Order in Council, on the recommendation of the Land Board, declare that any land comprised in a kauri-gum reserve shall, from a date to be specified in the Order, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and on and after the date so specified the land to which the Order relates shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924:

And whereas the Land Board of the North Auckland Land District has duly passed a resolution recommending that the portion of the Rotoroa Kauri-gum Reserve Extension, as described in the Schedule hereto, be excepted from the operations of the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section one hundred and sixty-two of the Land Act, 1924, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the portion of the Rotoroa Kauri-gum Reserve Extension as described in the Schedule hereto shall, from the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-nine, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908.
