LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
In the matter of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and in the matter of a Special Loan of £4,500, authorized to be raised by the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Lake, for bridging and other purposes. WHEREAS the Lake County Council is authorized by poll of the ratepayers to raise a special loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,500) for certain specified purposes, such loan being repayable under the said authorization over a period of twenty-five years (25 years); and whereas by Orders in Council of the Governor-General the Council is now authorized to repay portions of the said loan during a period of ten years (10 years); and whereas to meet the extra charges incurred by the shortening of the period of portions of the said loan an annually recurring special rate of one-hundredth of a penny (1/100d.) in the pound is required in addition to the annually recurring special rate of one-tenth of a penny (1/10d.) in the pound already levied for the purpose; Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in and conferred upon it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Lake County Council hereby, this 22nd day of June, 1939, resolves as follows:-
'That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of four thousand five hundred pounds (£4,000), authorized to be raised by the Lake County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing the Council's share of the said cost of erecting fourteen (14) bridges in the various ridings of the said County and the forming, channelling, kerbing, and tar-sealing of Ardmore Street in the Town of Pembroke, the said Lake County Council hereby in addition to the special rate of one-tenth of a penny (1/10d.) in the pound levied for the purpose on the 31st day of January, 1939, makes and levies a special rate of one-hundredth of a penny (1/100d.) in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Lake calculated on the basis of the capital value thereof; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable, along with the said special rate of one-tenth of a penny (1/10d.) in the pound, half-yearly on the first day of April and the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan or until the loan is fully paid off.'

And we hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of such resolution as appearing in the minute-book of the Council of the County of Lake.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
Creditors Voluntary Winding Up.
NOTICE is hereby given in compliance with section 222 of the Companies Act, 1933, that on the 29th day of June, 1939, by means of a resolution in the company's minute-book in accordance with section 300 of the said Act, the following resolution was passed as an extraordinary resolution:-
'(1) That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue in business and that it is advisable to wind up and that the company accordingly be wound up voluntarily.
'(2) That Mr. DUNCAN SANFORD COX, of Auckland, be appointed liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.'
At a meeting of the creditors of the company held in pursuance of section 300, subsection 7, of the said Act, on the 7th day of July, 1939, the appointment of the said Duncan Sandford Cox was confirmed.

[WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
THE WELLINGTON CITY SEWERAGE LOAN, 1937.
Resolution under section 23 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, amending special rate by increasing same.
THE following resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Wellington City Council held on the 12th day of July, 1939, viz. :-
'Whereas by Order in Council dated the 9th day of June, 1939, gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette of the 15th day of June, 1939, page 1815, the interest that might be paid in respect of the Wellington City Sewerage Loan, 1937, of £200,000, was increased so far as relates to £105,700, the unissued portion of the said loan, from £3 10s. per centum per annum to £4 5s. per centum per annum; and whereas by a resolution of the Wellington City Council dated the 15th day of April, 1937, gazetted on the 22nd day of April, 1937, at page 1046, a special rate of 1/48d. in the pound was levied as in the said resolution specified to provide interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the said loan of £200,000; and whereas it is necessary to increase the said special rate to meet such increased charges: Now, therefore, the Wellington City Council doth hereby in pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and particularly by section 23 of that Act, and of all other Acts, powers, and authorities enabling it in that behalf, resolves to amend the said special rate by increasing the same from 1/48d. to 1/48d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the City of Wellington, and resolves that such special rate increased as aforesaid pursuant to this resolution shall be an annually recurring rate commencing on the 1st day of June, 1937, and continuing during the currency of such loan of £200,000, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years from the 1st day of June, 1937, or until the loan is fully paid off.'
