Appointment in the New Zealand Naval Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased
to approve the following appointment in the New
Zealand Naval Forces:—

Surgeon Commander Roland George Anthony, M.B.,
Ch.B., Royal Navy, H.M.S. “Philomel,” in continuation
of present appointment and as Director of Medical
Services, to date 10th May, 1939.

Appointment of Member of Small Farms Board.

NOTICE is hereby given that His Excellency the Governor-
General has appointed
William Stewart
to be a member of the Board constituted pursuant to section 4
of the Small Farms (Relief of Unemployment) Act, 1932–33.

Appointments in the Public Service.

THE Public Service Commissioner has made the following
appointments in the Public Service :—
Jack Riccarton Deal,
to be Returning Officer for the Electoral and Licensing
Districts of Wellington East for the purposes of the Electoral
Act, 1927, and the Licensing Act, 1908, and their amendments,
as from the 20th day of June, 1939.
James Alexander Fyfe,
to be Returning Officer for the Electoral and Licensing
Districts of Avon for the purposes of the Electoral Act, 1927,
and the Licensing Act, 1908, and their amendments, as from
the 21st day of June, 1939.
Albert Edward Hynes,
to be Registrar of Electors and Returning Officer for the
Electoral District of Rotorua for the purposes of the Electoral
Act, 1927, and its amendments, and Returning Officer for
the Rotorua Licensing District for the purposes of the
Licensing Act, 1908, and its amendments, as from the 1st
day of July, 1939.
Thomas Kane,
to be Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court of New Zealand,
Deputy Sheriff for the District of Otago for the purposes of
the Judicature Act, 1908, and Local Patent Officer at Dunedin
for the purposes of section 115 of the Patents, Designs, and
Trade-marks Act, 1921–22, as from the 14th day of June,
1939.
Calvert Percy Wilkinson,
to be Assistant Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Hastings
for the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, as
from the 1st day of July, 1939.
Sergeant John Coutts,
to be Clerk and Bailiff of the Magistrates’ Court at Bluff for
the purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and
Maintenance Officer at the Magistrates’ Court at Bluff for
the purposes of the Destitute Persons Amendment Act, 1926,
as from the 8th day of June, 1939.
Alfred Christopher Hodge,
to be a ranger under the Animals Protection and Game Act,
1921–22, for the Otago Acclimatization District as from the
20th day of June, 1939.

Declaring a Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area.

PURSUANT to the Bobby Calf Marketing Regulations
1939, I, William Lee Martin, acting for the Minister
of Marketing, being satisfied that a sufficient majority of the
producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule hereto
are desirous that such area should be declared to be a pool
area for the marketing of bobby calves, do hereby declare
such area of land defined as aforesaid, to be a bobby calf
marketing pool area for the purposes of the said regulations
under the name set out in the said Schedule, and I do hereby
further declare that this notice shall take effect on the 6th
day of July, 1939.

SCHEDULE.
DRURY BOBBY CALF MARKETING POOL AREA.
ALL that area of land lying entirely within the Franklin
County and bounded by a line commencing at the point
where the Main Trunk Railway crosses the southern boundary
line of the Papakura Town District; thence continuing
from this point in a straight line in a south-easterly
direction to the point where it will meet the western
boundary of Block I, Opakehe Survey District, at Section
20; thence continuing in a southerly direction along the
western boundary of Block I; thence along the western
boundary of Block V, Opakehe Survey District; thence
continuing along the northern boundary of Block XII, Drury
Survey District, to the point where this boundary line meets
the boundary line of the Pukekohe Bobby Calf Marketing
Pool Area; thence following the eastern boundary of the
said pool area in a northerly and thence in a westerly
direction to the point where it meets the northern boundary
line of the Karaka Bobby Calf Marketing Pool Area at
Section 62, Block VII, Drury Survey District; thence from
this point, continuing along the western boundary line of
the said Karaka Pool Area in a northerly direction to the
point where it meets the southern boundary line of the
Papakura Town District; thence continuing the line along
this latter boundary line in an easterly direction to the
point where it is crossed by the Main Trunk Railway, the
original point of commencement.

the producers in the area of land defined in the Schedule
hereto are desirous that such area should be declared to be
part of the Ngahinepouri-Koromatua Bobby Calf Marketing
Pool Area defined by notice given under the hand of the
Minister of Marketing on the 12th day of July, 1938, and
published in the Gazette on the same day, at page 1636, do
