PURSUANT to the provisions of the Marriage Act, 1908, the following names of officiating ministers within the meaning of the said Act are published for general information:—

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Land in the Taranaki Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.

New Plymouth, 24th May, 1939.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 24th July, 1939.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 26th July, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of weighting for improvements.

SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Tawamrunui County.—Rangi Survey District.
(NATIVE LAND SETTLEMENT.)
SECTION 4, Block IV: Area, 13 acres 3 roods 5 perches. Capital value, £55.* Deposit on deferred payments, £5. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £1 12s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1 7s. 6d.
- Capital value includes the sum of £0 for improvements belonging to the Crown, comprising 6 acres felling and grassing. Weighted with £19 12s. 6d. (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising 43 chains fencing.
This section is situated on the Okaihao Road, three miles and a half from Tawamrunui Post-office, School, Railway-station, and Saleyards. The area is all easy to flat, ploughable land, with hummocks of pumice. The access is by pumice and metal road. The section is suitable for a working-man to augment his earnings by running a few cows. There is no dwelling on the property and the cowshed on the section is the property of the former licensee who has the right to remove the shed within three months from the date property is selected.
