HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments, &c., in the Royal New Zealand Air Force:—

REGULAR AIR FORCE.

Appointments.

Alfred Morton Seafield Manhire is granted a commission in the rank of Flight Lieutenant (on probation) in the Equipment Branch, Section II, and is posted to the R.N.Z.A.F. Base, Hobsonville. Dated 15th April, 1939.

Transfer from Reserve.

Flying Officer K. G. Smith is transferred from the Reserve of Officers to the General Duties Branch of the R.N.Z.A.F. for the remainder of his original period of engagement with seniority from 14th October, 1398, and is posted to Wigram Aerodrome for duty. Dated 14th April, 1939.

Extension of Appointment.

The period of service of Flight Lieutenant R. A. Anderson, M.C., is extended for two years. Dated 1st April, 1939.

TERRITORIAL AIR FORCE.

Appointment.

Jack Sanford Nelson is granted a commission in the rank of Pilot Officer (on probation) and is posted to the Wellington Territorial Squadron. Dated 14th March, 1939.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

Montague Frederick Foate is granted a commission in the rank of Pilot Officer (on probation) and is posted to the Reserve of Officers, Section II, Class B. Dated 14th April, 1939.

Member of the New Zealand Wool Committee appointed.— (Notice No. Ag. 3654.)

PURSUANT to the powers conferred upon the Minister of Agriculture by the Board of Trade (Wool Industry) Regulations 1925, I, William Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, do hereby appoint Henry Dyke Acland, Esquire, to be a member of the New Zealand Wool Committee established by the said regulations, vice Bernard Edward Howard Tripp, Esquire, resigned.

Roger Thomas Hilton Dale,

to be an Inspector of Stone Quarries for the purposes of the Stone Quarries Act, 1910, and an Inspector of Coal-mines for the purposes of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, as from the 17th day of April, 1939.

Charles Jeffrey Llansillan McCree,

to be Deputy District Land Registrar and Deputy Examiner of Titles for the District of Westland pursuant to section 4 of the Land Transfer Act, 1915, and Deputy Registrar of Deeds for the District of Westland pursuant to section 6 of the Deeds Registration Act, 1908, as from the 8th day of May, 1939.

Donald William Papps,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Takaka, as from the 17th day of April, 1939.
