Declarations of Desire to acquire British Nationality.

Wellington, 4th December, 1939.

It is hereby notified for public information that declarations
of desire to acquire British nationality in accordance
with the provisions of subsection (5) of the section relating
to the national status of married women set out in the Schedule
to the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New
Zealand) Amendment Act, 1934–35, have been made by the
persons named hereunder.

Notification of exemption from Renter's Quota under the Cinematograph Films Act, 1928.

Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 8th December, 1939.

It is hereby notified that in accordance with the authority
contained in section 29 of the Cinematograph Films
Act, 1928, exemption has been granted to each of the following
named renters in respect of the film-renting season for the
year 1939 from the provision of the aforesaid Act which
requires every licensed renter to acquire a stated proportion
of British films:

Columbia Pictures Proprietary, Limited.
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (N.Z.), Limited.
Paramount Film Service (N.Z.), Limited.
R.K.O. Radio Pictures (Asia), Limited.
United Artists (Asia), Ltd.
Universal Pictures Proprietary, Limited.
Warner Brothers First National Pictures, Limited.

Revoking the Notice prescribing the Amount of Special Orchard-tax payable in the Waimea Commercial Fruit-growing District.---(Notice No. Ag. 3715.)

In pursuance of the exercises and powers conferred upon
me by subsection (3) of section 4 of the Orchard-tax
Act, 1927, I, William Lee Martin, Minister of Agriculture, do
hereby revoke the notice prescribing the amount of special
orchard-tax payable by the occupier of every orchard within
the Waimea Commercial Fruitgrowing District given under
my hand on the 17th day of January, 1938, and published in
the Gazette on the 20th day of the same month at page 62,
and do hereby declare that such revocation shall take effect
on the date of the publication of this notice in the Gazette.

Dated at Wellington, this 8th day of December, 1939.
