Notice as to the making of By-laws under the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933.—(Notice No. Ag. 3713.)
N OTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Amendment Act, 1933, as amended by section 4 of the Statutes Amendment Act, 1936, of the making by the societies named in the Schedule hereto and of the approval by the Governor-General of by-laws under the above-entitled Act controlling the admission of persons to any place used or occupied by the said societies for any meetings, show, exhibition, competition, or entertainment held by each such society. The by-laws made by the Feilding Industrial, Agricultural, and Pastoral Association on the 25th day of October, 1935, and published in the Gazette on the 21st day of November, 1935, at page 3383, are substantially the same as the by-laws made by the said societies to which this notice relates.

Purchase of Wool Emergency Regulations 1939—Scale of Values.
P URSUANT to the Purchase of Wool Emergency Regulations 1939, I, Walter Nash, Minister of Marketing, do hereby fix the following Scale of Values of greasy wool for the purposes of the regulations.
SCALE OF VALUES.
Super to Average. Average to Inferior.
Merino 17d. to 13½d. 13½d. to 8½d.
Half-bred 18d. to 13½d. 13d. to 11½d.
Fine Cross-bred 15½d. to 13½d. 13d. to 10½d.
Medium Cross-bred 14½d. to 11½d. 11d. to 10d.
Coarse Cross-bred 13½d. to 11d. 10½d. to 9½d.
In the appraisement of wool under the regulations values will be assigned to wool in accordance with the Scale of Values but subject to variations on account of yield, handle, tenderness, manner of skirting, amount of seed-content, and all other factors affecting the appearance or condition of the wool.

Position : Lat., 41° 19′ S. ; long., 174° 51′ E. (approx.) 330°, 2,600 ft. from Steeple Rock Beacon.
Details : A small aluminium-painted mooring buoy for the use of the examination steamer has been established in the above position.

Mariners are hereby advised that the existing time-signals from ZLW will be replaced on the 1st January by the modified Onogo system (see Admiralty List of Wireless Signals, Vol. II, page 218) as follows :—

22 55 30 to 22 56 00 O (———) every 10 seconds; except that the third series from 25 seconds to 30 seconds consists of a single dash prolonged for 5 seconds.
22 57 00 to 22 57 49 X (—— —) every 5 seconds.
22 57 55 to 22 58 00 Time-signal: Six dots separated by intervals of 1 second (· · · · · ·)
22 58 08 to 22 58 50 N (— ·) every 10 seconds.
22 58 55 to 22 59 00 Time-signal: Six dots separated by intervals of 1 second (· · · · · ·)
22 59 08 to 22 59 50 G (— — ·) every 10 seconds.
22 59 55 to 23 00 00 Time-signal: Six dots separated by intervals of 1 second (· · · · · ·)
The series of six dots which constitute the actual time-signals are transmitted directly from the Dominion Observatory signal clock, which is seldom more than 0·25 second in error. Corrections to the time-signals can be obtained on application to the Observatory.
The preparatory and intermediate signals are sent from a special transmitter and should not be used as time-signals.
