NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

Newman's Road, Ngakaroa.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Cook County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work, the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the said Council, situate in Childer's Road, Gisborne, New Zealand, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chambers.

TE AWAMUTU ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION AMENDING SPECIAL RATE.

WHEREAS on the 24th day of June, 1938, a resolution was duly passed by the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board making a special rate of three-tenths of a penny (³⁄₁₀d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of that portion of the Te Awamutu Electric-power District described in such resolution for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of thirty thousand pounds (£30,000), authorized to be raised by the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board for the further reticulation of the said portion of the Board's District, including the purchase of all necessary material and plant, land and rights over land, and the payment of wages and engineering, survey, legal, and other fees. And whereas it has been ascertained that the said special rate of three-tenths of a penny (³⁄₁₀d.) in the pound will not be sufficient to meet such interest and other charges.

Now, therefore, the Te Awamutu Electric-power Board, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on the Board by section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, hereby resolves that the said special rate of three-tenths of a penny (³⁄₁₀d.) in the pound shall be and is hereby amended by increasing such amount of three-tenths of a penny (³⁄₁₀d.) in the pound to three-hundred and thirty-six-one-thousandths of a penny (³³⁶⁄₁₀₀₀d.) in the pound.
