FEATHERSTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Featherston Borough Council proposes under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and all other Acts, powers, and authorities it enabling, to execute certain public works—namely, the construction, operating, and maintenance of an intake-well and pumping-plant in and near to the Otauira River for water-supply to the Borough of Featherston—and for the purposes of such public works the lands and rights described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken; and notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands and interests so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council situate at Fitzherbert Street, Featherston, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public works or by the taking of such lands and interests, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of the said lands and interests, must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Town Clerk at the Chambers of the Council, Fitzherbert Street, Featherston.
SCHEDULE.
(1) Approximate area of the piece of land : 2 roods.
Being portion of Section 487, Township of Featherston ; coloured red on plan.
Situated Block III, Wairarapa Survey District. Title : Vol. 68, folio 299 (part).
(2) The right in perpetuity to erect and maintain on land adjoining that above described, being other part of the said Section 487, an overhead or underground line or lines for the transmission of electricity to and from the said above-described lands along the line indicated in red on the said plan for a distance of approximately 7½ chains, together with the right at all times by the Council's officers, servants, licensees, agents, and contractors to enter upon the said adjoining land for the purpose of inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and renewing the line or lines and all poles, appliances, and fittings used in connection therewith or appertaining thereto.
(3) Also the right in perpetuity to erect and maintain on Section 464, Township of Featherston, being the land in Certificate of Title, Vol. 349, folio 170 (in continuation of the above-mentioned line or lines), an overhead or underground line or lines for the transmission of electricity to and from the first above-described area of two roods along the line indicated in red on the said plan for a distance of approximately 10½ chains, together with the right at all times by the Council's officers, servants, licensees, agents, and contractors to enter upon the said Section 464 for the purpose of inspecting, repairing, maintaining, and renewing the line or lines and all poles, appliances, and fittings used in connection therewith or appertaining thereto.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the legal partnership hitherto subsisting between and carried on by the undersigned MARTIN HEYWOOD HAMPSON, GARNET GARVIN BELL, and JOHN ROBERT OSWALD LOCHHEAD at Putaruru under the name of "Hampson, Bell, and Lochhead," has been dissolved as from the lst day of April, 1939.

DANNEVIRKE ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
RESOLUTION AMENDING SPECIAL RATE.
WHEREAS on the 28th day of March, 1939, a resolution was duly passed by the Dannevirke Electric-power Board making a special rate of seventeen-one-hundredths of a penny (17/00d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Dannevirke Electric-power District for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of thirty-five thousand pounds (£35,000), authorized to be raised by the Dannevirke Electric-power Board for the purpose of providing, constructing, and erecting extensions and additions to all the electrical distribution and reticulation of the Dannevirke Electric-power District and provide tools, plant, buildings, and land equipment for the same as defined by the Electric-power Board's Act, 1925, and its amendments : And whereas it has been ascertained that the said special rate of seventeen-one-hundredths of a penny in the pound will not be sufficient to meet such interest and other charges.
Now, therefore, the Dannevirke Electric-power Board, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on the Board by section 23 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, hereby resolves that the said special rate of seventeen-one-hundredths of a penny in the pound shall be and is hereby amended by increasing such amount of seventeen-one-hundredths of a penny in the pound to one hundred and ninety-five one-thousandths of a penny (195/000d.) in the pound.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Whangarei Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
"That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £33,630 authorized to be raised by the Whangarei Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of installing storm-water drainage, carrying out modifications to the sanitary sewer system and flood-protection works, the construction of new bridges and approaches thereto, the acquisition of the necessary land, and the meeting of the costs of surveys and fencing, the said Whangarei Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-tenths of one penny (9/10d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Whangarei, comprising the whole of the Borough of Whangarie, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years or until the loan is fully paid off."
