Pursuant to section 222 of the Companies Act, 1933, in the matter of HOADLEY, SON, AND STEWART, LIMITED (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 30th September, 1939, it was (by reason of the company having amalgamated with the Hawkes’ Bay Farmers Co-operative Association, Limited) resolved by way of special resolution that the company be wound up voluntarily and that Messrs. WILLIAM BARTON HOBBS and ROBERT DOUGLAS BROWS, of Hastings, Public Accountants, be appointed liquidators.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of L. G. MARTIN AND COMPANY, LIMITED.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the above-named company held at the registered office, Somerset House, 153 Hereford Street, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 5th day of October, 1939, the following extraordinary resolution was passed:—

“That, as it is proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up it is hereby resolved that the company be wound up voluntarily; and

“That F. B. WRIGHT and J. K. BURTT, of Christchurch, both Public Accountants, be and are hereby appointed joint liquidators for the purposes of such winding up.”

All persons or companies having claims against the above-named company are required to send full particulars thereof to the undersigned on or before the 31st day of October, 1939, otherwise they may be excluded from participation in any distribution of assets.

MAPARA TIMBER, LIMITED.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of MAPARA TIMBER, LIMITED (in Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of members of the above company held on the 3rd day of October, 1939, the following extraordinary resolution was passed:—

“That the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that accordingly the company be wound up voluntarily, and that LEONARD KNIGHT, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be and is hereby nominated liquidator of the company.”

At a subsequent meeting the creditors of the company confirmed the shareholders’ nomination in respect of the liquidator.

PRIVATE BILL.

A Private Bill intituled “The Tauranga Licensing Committee Empowering Act.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the Arawa Land Company, Limited, intends to present a petition to the General Assembly of New Zealand at the ensuing session for leave to introduce a Private Bill, the short title of which is as above.

The objects of the proposed Bill are—

(a) To empower the Tauranga Licensing Committee to grant an accommodation or publican’s license within the Borough of Matamata to Kenneth John Rennie, of Matamata, Hotelkeeper, in respect of the premises known as the Matamata Hotel, situate in Arawa Street, Matamata, being the property of the Arawa Land Company, Limited.

(b) To make provision for the granting of such license by such committee at any annual or quarterly meeting but subject to the provisions of the Licensing Act, 1908, save as modified thereby.

Printed copies of the proposed Bill will be deposited in the Private Bill Office not later than fourteen days after the commencement of the session.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of members of the above-named company will be held at my office Wharf Street, Hokitika, on Tuesday, 31st October, 1939, at 2 p.m., for the purpose of having laid before them an account showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted, and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanations that may be given by the liquidator.
