NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 15 (c) (5) of the above-mentioned Act that the above-named society is in process of dissolution as is evidenced by an Instrument of Dissolution filed with me on the 11th day of September, 1939.

WHAKATANE BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

The following resolution was passed by the Whakatane Borough Council at its meeting held 11th September, 1939.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Whakatane Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £600, authorized to be raised by the Whakatane Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of removing a dwelling from generating station, Te Teko, and re-erecting same, modernized and enlarged, within the Borough, the said Whakatane Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Whakatane, upon the basis of the unimproved value, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

THE NAPIER AUCTIONEERING COMPANY, LIMITED.

NOTICE OF MEETING OF CREDITORS.

NOTICE is hereby given that a meeting of the Napier Auctioneering Company, Limited, will be held on Friday, the 22nd day of September, 1939, at 2.15 p.m., at which a resolution for the voluntary winding up is to be proposed. And that a meeting of the creditors of the said company will be held pursuant to section 234 of the Companies Act, 1933, at 2.30 p.m. on Friday, the 22nd day of September, 1939, at the offices of Messieurs McCulloch, Butler, and Spence, Public Accountants, Tennyson Street, Napier, at which meeting a full statement of the position of the company’s affairs together with a list of the creditors and the estimated amount of their claims will be laid before the meeting, and at which meeting the creditors, in pursuance of section 235 of the said Act, may nominate a person to be liquidator of the company, and in pursuance of section 236 of the said Act, may appoint a committee of inspection.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act, 1933, that a general meeting of members of the above-named company will be held at my office, Wharf Street, Hokitika, on Tuesday, the 10th day of October, 1939, at 2 p.m., for the purpose of having laid before them an account showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted, and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanations that may be given by the liquidator.

“Resolved this 12th day of September, 1939, that in conformity with the Companies Act, 1933, section 221 (b), the company be wound up voluntarily, and that DOUGLAS GORDON CHAPMAN, Public Accountant, Napier, be appointed liquidator of the company.”
