SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Rangiora County.—Mairaki Survey District.
Reserves 1739 and 1740, Blocks III, IV, VII, and VIII: Area, 102 acres 3 roods 37 perches. Capital value, £1,065. Deposit on deferred payments, £40. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £33 6s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £21 6s.
Capital value includes the sum of £35 for improvements, comprising 100 chains boundary fencing;
Weighted with £3 15s. (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising approximately 15 chains of subdivisional fencing.
This property lies on either side of Kennedys Road and is distant about six miles from Cust Railway-station by good road. The land comprises easy to steep undulating country of a cold clay nature, suitable for sheep grazing and the cultivation of sheep feed, turnips, and rape. The area is not self-supporting and is only suitable to be worked in with adjoining properties.

Town Lands in Westland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Hokitika, 8th September, 1939.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 16th October, 1939.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, on Wednesday, 18th October, 1939, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants and the successful applicant for each section is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee. In the case of Sections 47 and 53 the amount of the weighting for improvements is also payable as stated in the Schedule below.
NOTE.—These lands are offered in terms of section 153 of the Land Act, 1924, which provides that no right to any mineral under the surface shall pertain to the lessees, whose rights shall be to the surface soil only.

Borough of Runanga.—Westland Mining District.—Town of Runanga.
Section 47, Block XXXVIII: Area 1 rood 24·1 perches. Capital value, £25; half-yearly rent, 12s. 6d.
Weighted with £302 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling, washhouse, workshop, clearing, fencing, &c.
Section 48, Block XXXVIII: Area, 1 rood 4·1 perches. Capital value, £15; half-yearly rent, 7s. 6d.
Section 49, Block XXXVIII: Area, 1 rood 21 perches. Capital value, £15; half-yearly rent, 7s. 6d.
Section 52, Block XXXVIII: Area, 33·9 perches. Capital value, £20; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Section 53, Block XXXVIII: Area, 1 rood 29·9 perches. Capital value, £20; half-yearly rent, 10s.
Weighted with £160 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling, washhouse, and clearing.
These are residential sections in the Town of Runanga, seven miles from Greymouth by good metalled road and railway.
