Marton, as from the 31st day of January, 1939.

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Tauranga, as from the 6th day of February, 1939.

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Bluff, as from the 6th day of February, 1939.
Joseph Charles Corbishley
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Dannevirke, as from the 17th day of February, 1939.
Eric Robilliard Graham
to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at
Whangarei, as from the 13th day of February, 1939.
Thomas McHarg Houston
to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Health Act, 1920,
and an officer for the purposes of the Sale of Food and Drugs
Act, 1908, as from the 16th day of January, 1939.
Sergeant George Frederic Bonisch
to be Bailiff of the Magistrate's Court at Pahiatua for the
purposes of the Magistrates' Courts Act, 1928, as from the
1st day of February, 1939.
Henry Kaipiha Payne, and
Robert Niven Wilson McRae
to be Rangers for the purposes of the Animals Protection and
Game Act, 1921-22, and officers for the purposes of Part II
of the Fisheries Act, 1908, for the Rotorua Acclimatization
District, as from the 16th day of February, 1939.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Waipa
County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the
Melville Water-supply Special Rating Area taken on the 3rd
day of February, 1939, on the proposal of the Waipa County
Council to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of
providing a water-supply in the Melville Water-supply
Special Rating Area:—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 29
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. Nil
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

WAIPA COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers
of the Norton Water-supply Special Rating Area taken on
the 3rd day of February, 1939, on the proposal of the Waipa
County Council to borrow the sum of £3,300 for the purpose
of providing a water-supply in the Norton Water-supply
Special Rating Area:—

Votes.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 45
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was .. 3
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

Borough Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

MATAURA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Water-supply Loan, 1938, £4,500.

I HAVE to advise, pursuant to section 13 (1) of the Local
Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, that the result of the poll held on
the 11th February, 1939, on the proposal to raise a loan of
£4,500 for the purpose of augmenting the water-supply for
the borough, by carrying out improvement works between the
intake and the reservoir, is as follows:—

Votes.
Number of votes recorded for the proposal .. 139
Number of votes recorded against the proposal .. 81
And I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VI, Matakaoa
Survey District, for the Purposes of a Gravel-pit.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to take
the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes
of a gravel-pit. And notice is hereby further given that the
plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the
post-office at Hicks' Bay, and is there open for inspection;
and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land
should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the
taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication
of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be
taken: 2 acres 0 roods 17·1 perches.
Being portion of Wharekahika 18g Block.

Situated in Block VI, Matakaoa Survey District (Gisborne
R.D.). (S.O. 1588, brown.)

In the Gisborne Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 101991,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon edged red.

As witness my hand at Wellington, this 16th day
of February, 1939.
