IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of THE SOUTHERN INVESTMENT COMPANY, LIMITED (in Liquidation).
NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 30th day of November, 1938, the following special resolution was duly passed :—
“ That the company be wound up voluntarily and that WILLIAM EDWIN CHARLES REID, Public Accountant, of Dunedin, be appointed liquidator for the purposes of such winding up.”

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of CUDBY AND KELT, LTD. (in Liquidation).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above company duly convened and held on the 19th day of December, 1938, the following resolution was carried :—
“ That the company go into voluntary liquidation and that Mr. ALGERNON INSTONE RAINBOW, Public Accountant, of Hastings, be, and he is hereby appointed, liquidator for the purpose of such winding up.”

THE WELLINGTON HOSPITAL BOARD.
Under the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Wellington Hospital Board requires to take the land, with improvements, described hereunder :—
In Wellington: Parts Section seven hundred and sixty-six (766), Town of Wellington, containing five perches and fifteen one-hundredths of a perch (5·15 p.), situate in Riddiford Street, Wellington.
The land is required for the purposes of a public work, namely, hospital purposes within the meaning of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926.
Notice is hereby given that a plan of the said land is open for inspection at the offices of Messrs. Brandon, Ward, Hislop, and Powles, Solicitors, Brandon House, Featherston Street, Wellington.
All persons affected by such taking are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work, or to the taking of such land, and to send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the said board, the offices of which are situated at the Wellington Hospital in the City of Wellington.

ASHBURTON ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Ashburton Electric-power Board hereby resolves :—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifty thousand pounds (£50,000) authorized to be raised by the Ashburton Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the construction and completion of electric works the said Ashburton Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twelfth (1/12d.) of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Ashburton Electric-power District as defined by Proclamation proclaiming the said area dated the 17th day of November, 1921, and extended by Proclamation dated the 14th day of March, 1938, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of October and 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
Certified as a correct extract from the minutes of the proceedings of the said board dated the 30th day of March, 1938.

BULLER COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Buller County Council hereby resolves as follows :—
“ That, for the purposes of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,200 authorized to be raised by the Buller County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purposes of building new County Offices, the said Buller County Council makes and levies a special rate of one-seventh (1/7d.) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the County of Buller, comprising the whole of the County of Buller, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
“ That, for the purposes of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £6,000 authorized to be raised by the Buller County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purposes of road improvements and bituminous surfacing of county roads; the said Buller County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine one-twentieths (9/20d.) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the County of Buller, comprising the whole of the County of Buller, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”
We, David Archer and Campbell Frederick Schadick County Chairman and Engineer-Clerk, respectively, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolutions are true and correct extracts of the minutes of proceedings of the Buller County Council at a meeting of the council held on the 7th day of December, 1938.
