Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Whangarei Borough Council.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the scenic reserve described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Whangarei Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—
- The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.
- The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.
- The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act and of the regulations made thereunder.
SCHEDULE.
WHANGAREI SCENIC RESERVE.—NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Borough of Whangarei containing by admeasurement 84 acres 1 rood 30·6 perches, more or less, situated in Block XII, Purua Survey District, being Lots 1 and 3 on the plan numbered 13936 deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, being part of Allotment 1, Parish of Whangarei, and being all the land contained in Certificates of Title, Volume 384, folio 152, and Volume 376, folio 226. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/212A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 21st day of November, 1938.

Notifying the proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Auckland Land District for other Land.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and sixty of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor-General, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive any sum by way of equality of exchange:
And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 31·7 perches, more or less, being part of a drain reserve through Section 15, Block VI, Rangiriri Survey District: Bounded towards the west by Lot 3 on D.P. 27239; towards the north-east by another part of the said drain reserve; towards the east by Lot 4 on D.P. 27239; and towards the south by another drain reserve. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/1450/1078A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 30·5 perches, more or less, being Lot 5 on a plan numbered 27239, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and being part of Section 15, Block VI, Rangiriri Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/1450/1078A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 21st day of November, 1938.

a Judge of the Native Land Court, to be the Judge of the Ikaroa and South Island Native Land Court Districts as from the 1st day of November, 1938.

Harold E. Monk, of Aria,
to be an Officer for the purposes of Part II of the first-mentioned Act in respect of the Auckland Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby revoke the appointment of
Robert Henry Gridley, and
Walter Frederick Millard, both of Blenheim,
as rangers under the said Act for the Marlborough Acclimatization District.
