transfers, and retirements of officers of the New Zealand
Military Forces :
COMMANDS AND STAFF.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. J. Nicoll, the Canterbury Yeomanry
Cavalry, is appointed to command the Regimental Depot,
and remains seconded to command the 3rd Composite
Mounted Rifles Regiment. Dated 16th September, 1938.
Lieutenant-Colonel C. J. Pierce, M.C., E.D., the Waikato
Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the Regimental
Depot, and remains seconded to command the 1st Composite
Mounted Rifles Regiment. Dated 27th October, 1937.
Lieutenant-Colonel H. B. Maunsell, O.B.E., E.D., the Wel-
ington East Coast Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command
the Regimental Depot, and remains seconded to command
the 2nd Composite Mounted Rifles Regiment. Dated 1st
September, 1937.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. D. Jack, M.C., E.D., the North Auck-
land Regiment, is appointed to command the Regimental
Depot. Dated 1st September, 1937.
Lieutenant-Colonel R. V. Closey, E.D., the Waikato Regiment,
is appointed to command the Regimental Depot, and
remains seconded to command the 1st Composite Battalion.
Dated 1st September, 1937.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. J. M. Manson, M.C., E.D., the Hawke's
Bay Regiment, is appointed to command the Regimental
Depot. Dated 1st September, 1937.
Lieutenant-Colonel F. S. Varnham, M.C., E.D., the Taranaki
Regiment, is appointed to command the Regimental Depot
and remains seconded to command the 2nd Composite
Battalion. Dated 1st September, 1937.
Lieutenant-Colonel J. M. Samson, the Otago Regiment,
appointed to command the Regimental Depot, and remains
seconded to command the 3rd Composite Battalion. Dated
10th November, 1937.
Major B. W. H. Smart, Queen Alexandra's (Wellington West
Coast) Mounted Rifles, is appointed to command the
Regimental Depot, and remains seconded to the 2nd
Composite Mounted Rifles Regiment. Dated 11th October,
1937.
Major F. G. Dill, E.D., the Auckland (East Coast) Mounted
Rifles, is appointed to command the Regimental Depot,
and remains seconded to the 1st Composite Mounted Rifles
Regiment. Dated 1st June, 1938.
Major O. L. Ferens, E.D., the Otago Mounted Rifles, is
appointed to command the Regimental Depot, and remains
seconded to the 3rd Composite Mounted Rifles Regiment.
