BOROUGH OF RUNANGA.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Runanga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fourteen thousand pounds (£14,000) authorized to be raised by the Runanga Borough Council for the purpose of meeting the cost of water-supply from Coal Creek for the Borough of Runanga, the said Runanga Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nineteen pence and nine hundred and fifteen thousandths of a penny (19·915d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Runanga on the basis of the unimproved value of such property; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 7th day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
I certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Runanga Borough Council at a special meeting of the Council held on the 4th day of October, 1938.

NOTICE is hereby given that on the 30th day of September, 1938, the following special resolution was duly passed by an entry in the minute-book of this company signed as provided by subsection 1 of section 300 of the Companies Act, 1933:—

  1. “ That the company be wound up voluntarily.
  2. “ That WILLIAM JOHN ROACH, of the City of Auckland, Company Manager, be appointed liquidator of the company.”

In the matter of the Estate of WILLIAM COLEN SO, late of Napier, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay and Dominion of New Zealand, Clerk in Holy Orders (now deceased).

NOTICE is hereby given that the scheme prepared by the Napier Borough Council for the disposition of one-half of the sum of £500 bequeathed by the above named to the Council to use the income therefrom in assisting poor prisoners on their discharge from the common gaol at Napier and part of the income accumulated on the said sum of £500 has been referred to the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Napier for approval.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the Balfour Co-operative Dairy Factory Co., Ltd., held at Balfour on 3rd October, 1938, a resolution for the voluntary winding up of the company was carried.

The said business will be carried on by “Wellington Dry Cleaning Company, Limited,” at the same address.

TIMARU HARBOUR BOARD.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Harbours Act, 1923, and in the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Timaru Harbour Board proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work, being an undertaking which the Board is authorized to carry out—namely, the repairing and extending of the eastern extension works and the rebuilding of the north mole—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken by the said Board in order that access may be obtained to certain other lands from which the said Board has the right to quarry and take away such stone as it may require for the above public work; the said access is required so that the said stone may be conveyed by means of a tramway constructed over and through (inter alia) the said lands described in the said Schedule and thence to the said eastern extension and north mole: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the said Board situated at Wharf Street, Timaru, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours which are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on week-days from Monday to Friday (inclusive).
All persons affected by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Secretary of the said Board at the Board’s said offices Wharf Street, Timaru, aforesaid.

Approximate area of parcels of land required to be taken: 4 acres 0 roods 28 perches.
Description: Lot 1, Deposit Plan 6369, part Rural Section 7024, part Certificate of Title, Volume 344, folio 26, Claremont Road, Timaru.
Situated in Block X, Arowhenua Survey District, and thereon coloured green.
