OTAKI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Otaki Borough Municipal Theatre Supplementary Loan, 1938,
of £700.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Otaki Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest, principal, and other charges on a loan of seven hundred pounds (£700) authorized to be raised by the Otaki Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purposes of completing the erection of a municipal theatre, the said Otaki Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-halfpenny (½d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the area now comprising the whole of the Borough of Otaki; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the first day of December and the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

The common seal of Otaki was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Otaki Borough Council in the presence of—

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1933, and in the matter of Duncan’s Clothing Store, Ltd. (in Voluntary Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to section 241 of the Companies Act that a general meeting of the shareholders of the above company will be held at my office on Tuesday, the 18th October, 1938, at 10 a.m., and that a meeting of creditors of the above company will be held at my office on Tuesday, the 18th October, 1938, at 11 a.m., for the purpose of enabling the liquidator to lay before such meetings an account showing the manner in which the winding up has been conducted and the assets disposed of.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Waikato County Council proposes to execute a certain public work—to wit, the formation of a road—for which purpose the following lands require to be taken by the Waikato County Council under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, sections 22 and 23 (that is to say):—

All that piece or parcel of land in the Auckland Land District in the County of Waikato containing 3 roods 54 perches, more or less, being portion of Allotment 403 of the Parish of Taupiri.

A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is open for inspection at the office of the Waikato County Council, Hamilton East.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands or to send such writing to the Waikato County Council within forty days from the date of the first publication of this notice.

Dated at Hamilton, this 5th day of October, 1938.

THE GUARDIAN, TRUST, AND EXECUTORS COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND, LIMITED.

I, RICHARD FROUDE WARD, General Manager of the Guardian, Trust, and Executors Company of New Zealand, Limited, do solemnly and sincerely declare:—

  1. That the liability of the members is limited.
  2. That the capital of the company is £100,000, divided into 20,000 shares of £5 each.
  3. That the number of shares issued is 20,000.
  4. That calls to the amount of five pounds (£5) per share have been made, under which the sum of £100,000 has been received.
  5. That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates on the 1st day of July last is £16,825,313 3s. 7d.
  6. That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates on that day is £16,788,601 13s. 11d.
  7. That the amount of the balances due to estates under administration on that day is £36,711 9s. 8d.
  8. That the liabilities of the company as on the 1st day of July last were £610 0s. 1d.
  9. That the assets of the company on that day were £119,150 3s. 1d.
  10. That the first annual license was issued on the 10th day of March, 1911.

And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the partnership heretofore carried on at Lower Hutt between ARTHUR COWELL, of Lower Hutt, Welder, and ALWYN ATKINSON, of Kaiwarra, Welder, under the firm name or style of “Ateo Welding and Forging Company” has been dissolved by mutual agreement as from the 30th day of September, 1938.

The said Alwyn Atkinson will continue the business on his own account under the same name as was heretofore adopted by the partnership and all accounts due to and by the late partnership should be sent to the said Alwyn Atkinson, care of L. V. Phillips, Esquire, Public Accountant, Lower Hutt.
