Cancelling the Reservation over a Reserve in Rakaia Survey District, Canterbury Land District.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of September, 1938.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by subsection one (b) of section seven of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby cancel the reservation for Provincial Government purposes over the land described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that the said land, being vested in the Crown, is Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

RESERVE 1667, Block XIII, Rakaia Survey District, South Rakaia Township: Area, 1 rood 37 perches, more or less.

Recreation Reserve in Otago Land District brought under Part II of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of September, 1938.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the thirty-fourth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act, and such reserve shall hereafter form part of the Wanaka Islands Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain by the Wanaka Islands Domain Board.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the thirty-fourth section of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and such reserve shall hereafter be known as the Ouruhia Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.

ALL that area containing by admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods 35 perches, more or less, being part Reserve 4387 (formerly parts of Rural Sections 811 and 589), situated in Block III, Christchurch Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the south-west by rural Section 419, 1042·85 links; towards the north-west by Crown land and other parts of Rural Sections 589 and 811, 1000 links; towards the north-east by Rural Section 1527, 1000 links; and towards the south-east by Rural Section 26420 and the Kaputone Stream. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1/951c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Vesting the Control of a Reserve in the Waikokowai Public Hall Board.

GALWAY, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of September, 1938.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto was, by Warrant published in Gazette of the twenty-third day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, permanently reserved for a site for a public hall: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserve should be vested in a special Board as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section seventeen of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, for the period of five years from the date hereof (unless previously amended or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely,—

Varner James Cook,
Malcolm Garrick,
Harry Girven Henderson,
James Lamb,
Oliver Mason,
William McDicken, and
James Albert Thomas Tapp,

who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Waikokowai Public Hall Board (hereinafter referred to as “the Board”), with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say :—

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Monday in each month at eight o’clock p.m., at the Waikokowai School, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Monday, the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight.

  2. The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

  3. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of any such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

  4. Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

  5. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose one of their number to be Chairman of such meeting.
