“3. For the purpose of hospital stoppages, half-pay is to consist of half-substantive and half-non-substantive pay; but marriage allowance, dependant’s allowance, kit-upkeep allowance, and deferred pay (where payable) will continue in full.

“4. After ninety-one days all pay is to cease (i.e., including marriage and dependant’s allowances and deferred pay, but excluding kit-upkeep allowance).

“5. Hospital stoppages are to be charged in the ledger, and the relevant notations, &c., made in the manner laid down in the King’s Regulations and Admiralty Instructions.

“6. These stoppages are also applicable when the illness results from a motor or other accident which is proved to the satisfaction of the Commanding Officer (e.g., by judgment or conviction in the Courts ashore) to be due to misconduct, carelessness, or neglect.”

Article 232:—

“Acting Warrant Officer promoted temporarily to fill a vacancy abroad .. ..

On confirmation (if subsequently promoted normally) 10

“No. 90A. Non-substantive pay to Colour Sergeants As laid down in K.R. and A.I. To cover the actual loss so sustained but not to exceed 7d. a day.”
