CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Town Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 25th July, 1938.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 12th September, 1938.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 14th September, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, and lease fee.

These sections comprise part of the Town of Orakei, popularly known as the Orakei Garden Suburb, and are within easy distance of Orakei Railway-station and, by the Waterfront Road, within ten minutes by bus from Queen Street. This town has been laid out on modern town-planning lines and contains numerous reserves for the benefit of residents. Most of the sections now under offer are level to gently sloping, all in grass. From some of these sections commanding views are obtained of Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf. All sections have frontages to formed and metalled roads while some have tar-sealed footpaths. Water, sewerage, gas, and electricity are available. Sections already disposed of are rapidly being built on and some of the finest homes built on modern ideas are already erected.
- Section 181 is weighted with £50 for improvements, comprising garage, shed, and paths. This amount must be paid in cash.

Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Optional Tenures.
District Lands and Survey Office,
New Plymouth, 27th July, 1938.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, the 22nd August, 1938.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, the 24th August, 1938, at 10.30 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at the conclusion of the ballot, a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken period rent, lease and mortgage fees, deposit in reduction of improvement loading, and proportionate part of insurance on buildings.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Waitomo County.—Aria Survey District.
SECTION 10, Block III: Area, 1,673 acres. Capital value, £420. Deposit on deferred payments, £20: Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £13. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £8 8s.
Weighted with £855 for improvements, comprising dwelling, wool-shed and yards, 610 chains fencing, 800 acres felling and grassing. This sum is payable in cash, or may be secured by way of first mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of thirty-five years repayable by quarterly instalments of principal and interest. Interest will be at the rate ruling as at date of selection. The costs in connection with the preparation of the mortgage amounting to £4 13s. must be paid immediately an application is declared successful.
A grazing property situated in the Ohura–Mokau Road, thirty-two miles from Te Kuiti, fifteen miles from the nearest railway-station, and one mile from a school. Access is by metalled road. The section comprises rough country, mostly hilly and steep. The front of the section is fairly good land and a small dairy herd could be carried.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Napier, on Thursday, 8th September, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
