from the Provisions of Section 128 of the Public Works Act,
1928.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of
January, 1938.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following
resolution passed by the Greymouth Borough Council on the
second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty-seven, viz. :-
“ That the Greymouth Borough Council, being the local
authority having control of the streets of the Borough of
Greymouth, by resolution declares that the provisions of
section one hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works
Act, 1928, shall not apply to that portion of street known
as Sheedy Lane adjoining Section 14, Block II, N.R. 31,
Borough of Greymouth ”;
the portion of street affected by such resolution being
described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
THE northern side of all that portion of street, situated in the
Westland Land District, Borough of Greymouth, known as
Sheedy Lane, fronting Section 14, Block II, N.R. 31, Borough
of Greymouth. As the same is more particularly delineated
on the plan marked P.W.D. 98014, deposited in the office of
the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon
coloured green.

Portions of Upper Queen Street and Cross Street, in the City
of Auckland, exempted from the Provisions of Section 128 of
the Public Works Act, 1928.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 11th day
of January, 1938.

THE RIGHT HON. M. J. SAVAGE PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in
anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following

eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and
thirty-seven, viz. :-
“ The Auckland City Council, being the local authority
having control of the streets in the City of Auckland, by
resolution declares that the provisions of section one
hundred and twenty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1928,
shall not apply to those portions of Upper Queen Street
and Cross Street, City, adjoining Lots 31 and 32 and
right-of-way being portion of Allotment 8, Section 7,
Suburbs of Auckland ” ;
the portions of streets affected being described in the Schedule
hereto.
SCHEDULE.
THE north-western side of all that portion of street, in the
North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, known as
Upper Queen Street, fronting Lots 31 and 32 and right-of-
way being part Allotment 8, Section 7, Suburbs of Auckland.
Also the northern side of all that portion of street in the
said Land District and City, known as Cross Street, fronting
Lot 32, being part Allotment 8, Section 7, Suburbs of Auckland.
As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 97929, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the
three-hundred-and-first section of the Justices of the
Peace Act, 1927, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby notify and declare that the persons whose names are
set out in the Schedule hereto, being officers in the service
of the Crown holding the offices stated opposite their names
respectively in the said Schedule, are authorized to take
and receive statutory declarations under the three-hundred-
and-first section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927.

Exempting Crown Land from the Operation of the Mining
Act, 1926.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section twenty of the Mining Act, 1926,
it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may
from time to time, by notice in the Gazette, exempt any
Crown lands from mining, or from any specified mining
purpose, or from that Act or any specified provisions of
that Act; and that the lands to which any such notice
relates shall be specified therein by words of particular
description :
And whereas it is desirable that the Crown land specified
in the Schedule hereto shall be exempted from the Mining
Act, 1926 :
Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred upon me by section twenty of the Mining Act, 1926,
aforementioned, and of all other powers and authorities in
anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby exempt the
land particularly described in the Schedule hereto from the
operation of the Mining Act, 1926, and do also hereby declare
that such exemption shall take effect from the date of the
publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
