OTAGO ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Otago Electric-power Board for the purpose of providing for the erection of certain buildings in connection with the undertaking of the Board to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, the land described in the Schedule hereto, and notice is hereby given that a copy of the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited at the office of the Otago Electric-power Board, Union Street, Milton, and is there open for inspection; and notice is hereby further given that all persons affected shall, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Otago Electric-power Board at its offices at Milton aforesaid.

Area of land to be taken: 11·68 perches.
Being part Lots 20 and 34.
Situated in Block No. II, Elderlee portion of Milton; coloured red and blue.

WAITAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Housing Loan, 1938, £5,400.
THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waitaki County Council resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose for providing the interest and other charges on a loan of five thousand four hundred pounds (£5,400) authorized to be raised by the Waitaki County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing or leasing land and erecting thereon dwelling-houses for the occupation of Council employees, the said Waitaki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-five-hundredths (9/500d.) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of the special-rating area comprising the whole of the County of Waitaki, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Highways Construction Loan (No. 2), 1938, £15,000.
THAT in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waitaki County Council resolves as follows :—
“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of fifteen thousand pounds (£15,000) authorized to be raised by the Waitaki County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the reconstruction, metalling, and sealing of the Horse Gully Road to Kurow section of the Pukeuri–Kurow–Omarama Highway, including the widening of Henderson’s Creek and Waikaura Bridges and the erection of a new bridge over the water-race at Bortons, the said Waitaki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven-hundredths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value on the basis of the capital value of all rateable property of the special-rating area comprising the whole of the County of Waitaki, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years or until the loan is fully paid off.”
