CASTLEPOINT COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Castlepoint County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand five hundred (£2,500) pounds authorized to be raised by the Castlepoint County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a bridge over the Whakataki River, re-aligning the road, and of purchasing the land necessary for such purposes, the said Castlepoint County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-twenty-eighth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the County of Castlepoint, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Castlepoint County Council at its meeting held on the 9th day of April, 1938.

HAMILTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

Garden Place Loan, 1937, £77,500.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of seventy-seven thousand five hundred pounds (£77,500) authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the levelling and formation of the street known as Garden Place, acquiring certain properties adjacent thereto, and levelling and improving the same, levelling and improving certain lands in Garden Place already vested in the Corporation, removing buildings on the lands to be acquired, renovating and re-erecting the same on other lands vested in the Corporation, filling-in and levelling certain lands vested in the Corporation or under the control of the Hamilton Domain Board, and levelling, pipe draining, and improving certain lands vested in the Corporation, the construction and formation of new streets and footways (including any necessary retaining walls, paving, kerbing, and channelling), and the provision of storm-water and sewer drainage in Garden Place and such new streets, including the purchase of all necessary land, buildings, material, plant, and tools, and all payments for labour, engineers and legal fees, valuation fees, advertising, survey charges, plans, and supervision, and for compensation to owners of property in respect of such works, the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny three-farthings on the pound (£) on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Garden Place special-rating area, being all that area situated in the Borough of Hamilton in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded, commencing at the intersection of Bryce Street and Hamilton Parade towards the north-east by the Hamilton Parade to the south-eastern corner of Allotment 55 of the Town of Hamilton West; thence towards the south-east by the northern boundary of Allotment 56 to the south-western corner of the said Allotment 55; thence by a line across Victoria Street to the south-eastern corner of Lot 4 of Allotment 81; thence by the northern boundary of Lot 3 of Allotment 81 to the south-western corner of the said Lot 4; thence by the north-western boundaries of Lots 3, 2, and 1 of the said Allotment 81 to the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 80; thence by the north ern boundaries of Allotments Numbers 80 and 88 to Anglesea Street; thence towards the south-west by Anglesea Street to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Lot 27 on deposited Plan Number 17135; thence by a line across Anglesea Street and the south-eastern boundary of the said Lot 27 to Tristram Street; thence by Tristram Street and a line across the railway reserve to the Frankton-Botoma line; thence towards the north-west by the said railway-line to Victoria Street; and thence by Victoria Street to Bryce Street; and thence by Bryce Street to the point of commencement; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at a duly constituted meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council held on the 15th day of June, 1938.
