Situated in the Borough of Gore (Southland B.D.).

In the Southland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 99247, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 23rd day of June, 1938.

Defining the Middle-line of a Road in Blocks III, VI, and VII, Paeroa Survey District—viz., Deviations of the Rotorua-Tau po State Highway.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of a road in Blocks III, VI, and VII, Paeroa Survey District—viz., deviations of the Rotorua-Taupo State Highway—shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the existing Rotorua-Whakatane State Highway opposite Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6p 2n Block, marked 15 miles, being the point of termination of the middle-line of the road defined by Proclamation dated 13th March, 1931, and published in New Zealand Gazette, 1931, page 622, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction generally along the said highway for a distance of approximately 6 miles 40 chains and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c., viz., Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6p 2n, 6a 21b, 3a 1a, and part 3a 1b Blocks; part Paeroa East 1a West Block; Section 6 and part Section 5, Block VII, Paeroa Survey District; part Paeroa East 4s 1s 1 Block; Rotomahana-Parekarangi 3a 3s 3a 1 and 3a 3s 3c 3 Blocks; and terminating at a point on the boundary of the Rotorua and Taupo Counties; including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses; all in the Auckland Land District. As the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 99482, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Changing Name of the Harbour known as “ Kioreroa,” County of Whangarei, to “ Port Whangarei.”

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is considered expedient that the name of the harbour known as “ Kioreroa,” in the County of Whangarei, should be changed to “ Port Whangarei ”:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the harbour known as “ Kioreroa,” in the County of Whangarei, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “ Port Whangarei,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such harbour accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

Trustees of Oamaru Racecourse appointed.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS George Livingstone and Jeremiah O’Brien were appointed to be trustees of the Oamaru Racecourse under the provisions of an Ordinance of the Provincial Council of Otago intituled the Oamaru Racecourse Reserve Management Ordinance, 1870: And whereas the said George Livingstone and the said Jeremiah O’Brien are deceased, and it is therefore necessary to appoint other persons to be trustees in the place of the said George Livingstone and Jeremiah O’Brien:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the aforesaid Ordinance and by subsection two of section twenty-nine of the Acts Interpretation Act, 1924, do hereby appoint Alexander Smith Morton and Kenneth Teesdale Austin to be permanent trustees and members of the corporate body appointed under the said Oamaru Racecourse Reserve Management Ordinance, 1870, by the name and style of “ The Trustees of the Oamaru Racecourse,” in the place of the said George Livingstone and Jeremiah O’Brien.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 24th day of June, 1938.

Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District proclaimed to be Ordinary Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section forty-nine of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, as amended by subsection one of section ten of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1935, it is enacted that the Governor-General may by Proclamation declare any settlement land to be, inter alia, ordinary Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is settlement land within the meaning of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities so conferred upon me by the aforesaid section forty-nine, amended as aforesaid, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the date of the gazetting hereof the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be ordinary Crown land available for disposal under the Land Act, 1924.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—WAITAKI COUNTY.
SECTION 8, Block II, Waitaki Survey District, Waikakaki Settlement: Area, 198 acres.
