Notice to Persons affected by an Application for a License under Part III of the Industrial Efficiency Act, 1936.
Taking of Fish.
I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from W. E. Reesby for a license to take fish at Raglan by means of a 42 ft. 30 h.p. launch, using set-nets and long and hand lines, and supplying the Raglan and Hamilton markets.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 27th June, 1938.

I HEREBY give notice that an application has been received from Joseph Nathan and Co. (N.Z.), Ltd., on behalf of a company to be formed, for a license to manufacture storage battery separators.
Any person who considers he will be materially affected by the decision of the Bureau in respect of this application, and who wishes to make representations accordingly, must furnish such representations in writing so as to reach the undersigned not later than the 30th June, 1938.

CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 14th June, 1938.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on renewable lease; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 18th July, 1938.
The land described in the First Schedule is Crown land and is offered in terms of the Land Act, 1924—term of lease, 66 years. The land described in the Second Schedule is settlement land and is offered in terms of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925—term of lease, 33 years.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 20th July, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of improvement loading.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Mangonui County.—Opoe Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for three years.*)
SECTIONS 9, 10, and 11, Block VIII: Area, 75 acres 1 rood 35 perches. Capital value, £110; half-yearly rent, £2 4s.
*Exemption from payment of rent is conditional on selector effecting permanent improvements on the area to the value of £25 annually during the exemption period, in addition to the usual requirements under the Land Act.
Weighted with £5 (to be paid in cash) for improvements on Section 9, comprising 2½ acres grassing and a small orchard. This property is situated on Woodlake Road, eight miles from Kaitaia Dairy Company at Awanui. Access is from Waipapakauri which is about five miles distant, three miles being metalled and two miles partly formed sandy track, passable by motor traffic. Store, school, and post-office at Waipapakauri. Sections comprise undulating consolidated sand-dune country covered in gorse, tea-tree, scrub, and native grasses. Soil is a warm sandy loam on sandstone formation. Section 11 is well watered by lakes. No permanent water on Sections 9 and 10, but probably could be obtained by sinking. Altitude, 70 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—FIRST-CLASS SETTLEMENT LAND.
Hobson County.—Tangowahine Settlement.
SECTION 7s: Area, 167 acres 3 roods. Capital value, £1,610*; half-yearly rent, £40 5s.
Weighted with £278 for improvements, comprising dwelling, hut, cow-bye, 152 chains subdivisional fencing, 38 chains drains, 12 acres cleared and rushed. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £78, the balance may be paid over a period of five years by half-yearly instalments of £20, plus interest at 5 per cent.
The property is situated on the Settlement Road, two miles by metalled road from Tangowahine School, Post-office, and Railway-station, and twelve miles from Northern Wairoa Dairy Factory and Mangawhare Saleyards. Section comprises 89 acres good swamp, 70 acres fair quality easy undulating hills, and 8 acres hilly to steep. With exception of approximately 17 acres area is in worn-out pasture. Soil is rich in swamp and of a clay nature on hills resting on sandstone formation; watered by a good spring. Property is divided into four paddocks and is suitable for dairying.
*The capital value includes the sum of £391 on account of improvements belonging to the Crown, comprising 46 acres felled and grassed, 30 acres swamp, cleared and grassed, 58 chains road-fencing, 4 chains boundary-fencing, and 40 chains drains.
