Arrangements for taking Poll respecting Proposed Borough of Papatoetoe.
GALWAY, Governor-General.
PURSUANT to the powers vested in me in that behalf by section one hundred and thirty-five of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby direct that a poll shall be taken on the proposal that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a borough under the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, by name the Borough of Papatoetoe; and further, I do hereby make the following appointments and arrangements for the purpose of taking the said poll:
- William Young, Esquire, of Papatoetoe, to be the Returning Officer for the purpose of taking the said poll and also to be the person authorized to prepare a voters' roll of the persons entitled to vote at the said poll.
- The voters' roll prepared and signed by the said William Young shall be the voters' roll to be used at the said poll.
- The said poll shall be taken on Wednesday, the thirteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-eight, and shall close at seven o'clock in the afternoon of that day.
- Except as herein provided, the poll shall be taken as nearly as may be in the manner provided by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and the Returning Officer hereby appointed shall be deemed to be a Returning Officer appointed for the purpose of that Act.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE CONSTITUTED AS THE BOROUGH OF PAPATOETOE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, situated in Manurewa Parish, bounded commencing at a point on the south-eastern side of Portage Road at the south-western corner of Lot 13 on D.P. 9822, in a north-easterly direction generally along the south-eastern side of Portage Road to the northernmost corner of Lot 27 on D.P. 9822; thence along a right line across Portage Road to a point bearing 115Β° 49' and distant 39.53 links from the south-western corner of Lot 13 on D.P. 20144; thence along a right line to the south-western corner of Lot 13 aforesaid and along the north-eastern side of Buckland Road for a distance of 700.47 links to a point on the south-western boundary of Lot 7 on D.P. 20144; thence along a right line passing through Lots 7, 8, 85, 84, 83, 82, 81, 80, 79, 78, 77, 76, and 74 on D.P. 20144, across Rosebank Road, and through Lot 32 on D.P. 20144, Lots 18, 17, 16 on D.P. 19344, across Milton Road, and through Lot 38 on D.P. 19344 and Lots 11, 10, 9, and 8 on D.P. 19345, to a point on the western side of Grey Avenue, distant 1250 links from its junction with Portage Road; thence along the production of the last-mentioned right line to the eastern side of Grey Avenue; thence along the eastern side of Grey Avenue to the south-western corner of Lot 2 on Deeds Registration Plan Whau 87; thence in a generally easterly direction along the southern boundary of Lot 2 aforesaid to and along the North Island Main Trunk Railway to its intersection with the south-eastern side of Portage Road; thence across the said railway to and along the south-eastern side of Portage Road to the Tamaki River; thence along a right line across Tamaki River to the south-western corner of part Allotment 14, Manurewa Parish, shown on D.P. 3156; thence along the southern boundary of part Allotment 14 and the south-western boundary of part Lot 40 of Allotment 36, Manurewa Parish, shown on D.P. 3156, to and along the south-western boundary Lot 39 on D.P. 16884 to and across Cornwall Road and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 1 on D.P. 15277 and the north-western boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 18367 to the north-western boundary of the original Lot 20 on D.P. 3156; thence along the last-mentioned boundary, portion of which passes through Lots 5 and 6 on D.P. 18411 to a point on the southern boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 22407, being the north-western corner of original Lot 20 on D.P. 3156 aforesaid; thence along the southern boundaries of Lots 1 and 18 on D.P. 22407, across Rangitoto Avenue, and along the southern boundary of Lot 36 on D.P. 22407 to an angle in that boundary being the south-eastern corner of original Lot 18 on D.P. 3156; thence along the south-eastern boundary of original Lot 18 aforesaid, passing through Lots 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, and road reserve on D.P. 22407 and the continuation of this boundary to the southernmost corner of Lot 49 on D.P. 16884; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 49, 48, 47, and 46 on D.P. 16884 to the south-western side of Great South Road; thence along a right line across Great South Road to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4 on D.P. 6873, Lot 11 on D.P. 20840, across Konini Avenue, to and along the north-western boundaries of Lots 1, 15, and 14 on D.P. 20840 to a point on the boundary of the last-mentioned lot, being the northernmost corner of original Lot 6 on D.P. 6873; thence in a general south-easterly direction along the north-eastern boundary of original Lot 6 aforesaid, passing through Lots 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 on D.P. 20840, across Motautau Road, to and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 7 and 8 on D.P. 20840 to East Tamaki Road; thence across East Tamaki Road to and along the south-western boundary of Lot 7 on D.P. 8105 and along the south-eastern boundary of that lot to and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 17 on D.P. 18284, across Hoteo Avenue, and along the north-eastern boundary of Lot 16 on D.P. 18284; thence along the north-western and northern boundaries of Lot 26 on D.P. 8105 to Huia Road; thence along the western side of Huia Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Lot 38 on D.P. 19378; thence across Huia Road to and along the southern boundaries of Lot 38 on D.P. 19378 and Lots 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, and 32 on D.P. 21522, across Henwood Road, and along the southern boundaries of Lots 31, 28, 27, and 26 on D.P. 21522 to the north-western corner of Lot 30 on D.P. 17491; thence along the western boundaries of Lots 30, 31, 32 on D.P. 17491, and the last-mentioned boundary produced through Lot 37 on D.P. 17491 and across Flat Bush Road to its southern side; thence along the southern side of that road to a point distant 208.3 links from the north-eastern corner of Lot 19 on D.P. 7011; thence along a right line through Lot 19 aforesaid to a point distant 210.59 links from the south-eastern corner of Lot 19 aforesaid; thence along part of the southern boundary of Lot 19 aforesaid and the southern boundaries of Lots 18 and 17 on D.P. 7011 to the north-western corner of Lot 12 on D.P. 7011; thence in a general south-westerly direction along the north-western boundary of Lot 12 on D.P. 7011 to the north-easterly side of Great South Road; thence across Great South Road to and along the north-western boundary of Lot 1 on D.P. 9047 and along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 14 on D.P. 9047 and the north-western boundaries of Lots 13, 12, and 11 on D.P. 9047, and the last-mentioned boundary produced through Lot 12 on D.P. 18450 and across Avis Avenue and through a road reserve on D.P. 18103 and across Carruth Road to its south-western side; thence along a right line to the north-eastern corner of Lot 24 on D.P. 7551, passing through Lot 58 on D.P. 18610, Lots 86 and 85 on D.P. 15218, Lots 7, 39, and 30 on D.P. 18610, across York Road, and through Lots 10 and 11 on D.P. 18610, and Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 on D.P. 19874, and across Victoria Road; thence along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 24 and 25 on D.P. 7551, Lots 13, 14, and 17 on D.P. 22677, across Hunter Road and along the north-eastern boundaries of Lots 26 and 37 on D.P. 22677 to and along the north-western side of Puhinui Road to the North Island Main Trunk Railway; thence in a north-westerly direction along the north-eastern side of the aforesaid railway to the north-western corner of Lot 39 on D.P. 7551; thence in a south-westerly direction along a right line across the said railway and passing through Lot 28 on D.P. 16605, across Kenderdine Road and through Lot 60 on D.P. 16605 and part Lot 2 on D.P. 2833 to the north-eastern corner of part Allotment 44, Manurewa Parish, on D.P. 20773; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of part Allotment 44 aforesaid for a distance of 850 links; thence in a westerly direction along a right line passing through part Allotment 44 aforesaid and across Wyllie Road to the north-eastern corner of Lot 13 on D.P. 13843; thence along the northern boundaries of Lots 13 and 14 on D.P. 13843 and the last-mentioned boundary produced to the western side of Margaret Road; thence along the western side of Margaret Road to and along the northern boundary of Lot 17 on D.P. 13843 to the eastern boundary of Lot 21 on D.P. 15328; thence in a general northerly direction along the eastern boundary of Lot 21 aforesaid, to and across Pah Road, and along the eastern boundaries of Lots 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1 on D.P. 19668, the general northern boundaries of the last-mentioned lot to Hillside Road; thence across Hillside Road to and along the south-western and western boundaries of Lots 28 and 10 on D.P. 21313, the abutment of Hillcrest Road, and along the western boundaries of Lots 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 on D.P. 21313, and Lot 16 on D.P. 18732, to a point on the last-mentioned boundary distant 855.5 links from the south-western corner of that lot; thence along a right line through part Allotment 29 on D.P. 12174 to the angle in the south-eastern boundary of Lot 7 on D.P. 9822; thence along the south-eastern boundaries of Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, and the south-western boundaries of Lots 11 and 13, all on D.P. 9822, to the south-western corner of the last-mentioned lot on the south-eastern side of Portage Road, the point of commencement.
