MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I, PETER CHRISTOPHER STANLEY UNWIN, M.B., B.S., (N.Z. Univ., 1938), now residing in Christchurch,
hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 24th June
next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the
Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the
evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department
of Health at Christchurch.

WHITFIELD AND KENNEDY, LIMITED.

IN LIQUIDATION.

PURSUANT to section 241 of the Companies Act, 1933,
a general meeting of the members of the above-named
company will be held at the offices of Messrs. McCulloch,
Butler, and Spence, Public Accountants, Lowe Street,
Gisborne, on the 22nd day of June, 1938, at 9.30 o'clock in
the forenoon, for the purpose of receiving the final accounts
of the liquidator.

The final meeting of creditors of the company will be held
at the same place on the 22nd day of June, 1938, at 10 o'clock
in the forenoon, for the purpose of scrutiny, and, if thought
fit, of passing the accounts of the liquidator.

RESOLUTION.

THE following Regulations were laid before the members
of the Waipa Racing Club at a meeting held on the
19th day of May, 1938, at Te Awamutu with a recommendation
by the Chairman of such Club, Mr. J. T. Young, that
the same be passed at once with a view to their approval by
His Excellency the Governor-General in pursuance of the
Gaming Act, 1908, section 33.

Mr. J. T. Young, the Chairman of such Club and the
meeting moved, and Mr. A. H. Storey seconded, and it was
resolved that such Regulations should be adopted, and that
the Chairman and Secretary be authorized to sign the same
in authentication thereof.

The following are the Regulations referred to:—

WAIPA RACING CLUB.

REGULATIONS.

(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)

In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf contained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the Waipa
Racing Club a racing club within the meaning of the said
Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said Club”), doth hereby
make the following regulations controlling the admission of
persons to that part of the Waikato Racing Club's property
situated in the district of Hamilton and known as the Te Rapa
Racecourse while the said racecourse is used or occupied by
the said club for race meetings.

  1. These regulations shall come into force on the date of
    the same being published in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “racing
    club,” and “race meeting” shall have the meanings ascribed
    to those terms respectively by section 2 of the Gaming Act,

  3. The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
    from the racecourse above described while the same is used
    or occupied by the said club for a race meeting, namely:—
    (a) Bookmakers.
    (b) Bookmakers' clerks, bookmakers' assistants, and book-
    makers’ agents.
    (c) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
    racing or trotting club in the Dominion of New
    Zealand, the Commonwealth of Australia, or else-
    where if affiliated to the New Zealand Racing
    Conference, or the New Zealand Trotting Conference,
    or the New Zealand Trotting Association.
    (d) Common prostitutes and persons who habitually con-
    sort with thieves or persons who have no lawful
    visible means of support.
    (e) Professional tipsters, persons convicted of house-
    breaking or pocket-picking, forgery, uttering or
    possessing counterfeit coin, theft, false pretences,
    receiving stolen goods, mischief, assault, or any
    offence or crime of any kind under the Crimes Act,
    1908, and also idle and disorderly persons, rogues,
    and vagabonds, and incorrigible rogues convicted
    under the Police Offences Act, 1908, and persons
    convicted of an offence under the Gaming Act, 1908.

Provided always that the Executive Committee appointed
by the New Zealand Racing Conference, upon being satisfied
by evidence as to character and otherwise that any person
who, by reason of any conviction, comes within the scope of
this regulation, should have relief from the effect thereof,
may grant exemption to any such person, and may at any
time revoke any such exemption without notice to such
person, and without assigning any reason for such revocation.

The foregoing regulations of the Waipa Racing Club were
made and passed by such club on the 19th day of May,
1938, and signed by the Chairman and Secretary.

BOROUGH OF RICHMOND.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the
Richmond Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
“That, for the purpose of providing the half-yearly pay-
ments of interest and principal on a loan of £225 authorized
to be raised by the Richmond Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the work
for which the Town Hall Loan, 1937, of £2,650 was autho-
rized, the said Richmond Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of one-thirty-eighth of a penny in
the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of capital
value) of the whole of the rateable property within the
Borough of Richmond, and that such special rate shall be an
annually recurring rate during the currency of the said loan,
and shall be payable yearly on the 15th day of August in each
and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a
period of ten years or until the said loan is fully paid off.”

matter of A. W. OSBORNE, LIMITED (in voluntary
Liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to section 241 of the
Companies Act, that a general meeting of the share-
holders of the above company will be held at my office on
Monday, the 13th June, 1938, at 10 a.m., and that a meeting
of creditors of the above company will be held at my office on
Monday, the 13th June, 1938, at 11 a.m., for the purpose of
enabling the liquidator to lay before such meetings an account
showing the manner in which the winding up has been con-
ducted and the assets disposed of.

CHANGE OF NAME OF COMPANY.

NOTICE is hereby given that Samson and Boot, Limited,
has changed its name to Ray Boot, Limited, and that
the new name was this day entered on my Register of Com-
panies in place of the former name.
