Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 23rd May, 1938.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Waima County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926.

WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers within the Stoke Water-supply Special-rating Area taken on the 11th day of May, 1938, on the proposal of the Waima County Council to borrow the sum of £21,000 for the purpose of construction of a water-reservoir and the reticulation of water through Stoke Water-supply Special-rating Area:—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was .. 152
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 53
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Appointing Saturday as the Statutory Closing-day in the Town District of Putaruru.
WHEREAS a poll to determine the statutory closing-day in the Town District of Putaruru was duly taken under the authority of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, on the 11th day of May, 1938 :
And whereas the Chairman of the Town District of Putaruru has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the Town District of Putaruru :
Now, therefore, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the Town District of Putaruru on and from the 13th day of June, 1938.

Now, therefore, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough as from the 13th day of June, 1938.

And whereas the Town Clerk of the City of Nelson has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said Combined District of Nelson :
Now, therefore, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said Combined District of Nelson on and from the 13th day of June, 1938.

And whereas the Mayor of the Borough of Tauranga has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough :
Now, therefore, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough on and from the 13th day of June, 1938.
