Appointing Saturday as the Statutory Closing-day in the Borough of Westport.

WHEREAS a poll to determine the statutory closing-day in the Borough of Westport was duly taken under the authority of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, on the 11th day of May, 1938 :

And whereas the Town Clerk of the Borough of Westport has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough :

Now, therefore, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the said borough on and from the 30th day of May, 1938.

Dated at Wellington, this 25th day of May, 1938.

WHEREAS a poll to determine the statutory closing-day in the Borough of Upper Hutt was duly taken under the authority of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, on the 11th day of May, 1938 :

And whereas the Mayor of the Borough of Upper Hutt has notified me that the majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the appointment of Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the Borough of Upper Hutt :

Now, therefore, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the Borough of Upper Hutt on and from the 13th day of June, 1938.

Now, therefore, I, Hubert Thomas Armstrong, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 20 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, do hereby appoint Saturday as the statutory closing-day in the Borough of Dargaville on and from the 13th day of June, 1938.

Colours prescribed for Motor-vehicle Registration-plates for the Licensing Year 1938–39.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by Regulation 16 of the Motor-vehicle Registration-plate Regulations, 1934, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that for the licensing year commencing on the 1st day of June, 1938, the distinguishing marks for registration-plates shall be embossed and coloured white on a ground coloured Light Brunswick Green No. 25, British Standards.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks V and VIII, Purua Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kamo and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
