NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR LOAN OF £4,500.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Hawke’s Bay Earthquake Act, 1931, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, and of all other Acts and powers (if any) it enabling, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £4,500 authorized to be raised by the said Council under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of repairing the damage caused by the earthquake on the 3rd day of February, 1931, to the following municipal works and undertakings—sanitary drainage, water-supply, storm-water drainage, and streets—the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-nine four-hundredths (29/400ths) of a penny in the pound (£) upon the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Borough of Napier, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

Certified a true copy of resolution passed by the Napier Borough Council at a special meeting held on the 1st February, 1937, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting held on the 22nd February, 1937.

PALMERSTON NORTH FIRE BOARD.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

NOTICE is hereby given under section 22 of the Public Works Act, 1928, that the Palmerston North Fire Board, pursuant to the powers vested in it by section 44 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1926, and by the Public Works Act, 1928, intends to take for a public work—to wit, the extension of its site for a fire-brigade station—that part of section 335, City of Palmerston North, containing 1 rood 23·6 perches, and being that portion of the said section 335 lying immediately at the rear of section 326, Palmerston North.

A copy of the plan showing the land to be taken for such public work and the names of the owners and occupiers of such land so far as they can be ascertained, has been deposited and is open for inspection at the office of Cyril Vere Day (Secretary to the Board), Bryant’s Buildings, Rangitikei Street, Palmerston North.

All persons affected are required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land and to send such writing within 40 days from the 25th day of March, 1938 (being the date of the first publication of this notice), to the Palmerston North Fire Board at Palmerston North.

GREY COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Grey County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

“ That, for the purpose of securing the repayment by instalments of the Housing Loan, 1937, of £620 and interest thereon authorized to be raised by the Grey County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the acquisition of land and the erection of worker’s dwelling thereon, the said Grey County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 11/1000 of a penny in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value (upon the basis of capital value) of all rateable property within the County of Grey, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Grey County Council held on the 3rd day of March, 1938.

ALTERATION TO BOUNDARY OF SPECIAL RATE.

In the matter of the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, and in the matter of the special area described in the resolution of the Christchurch Drainage Board dated the seventeenth day of April, 1923, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 37 of the twenty-sixth day of April, 1923, and as altered by resolutions of the Christchurch Drainage Board dated the fifteenth day of February, 1927, the twenty-first day of June, 1927, the sixteenth day of April, 1930, the sixteenth day of February, 1932, the twenty-first day of March, 1933, the nineteenth day of November, 1935, the twenty-sixth day of May, 1936, the twenty-fifth day of June, 1936, the twenty-second day of June, 1937, and the twenty-third day of November, 1937, and published in the New Zealand Gazettes Nos. 11, 54, 37, 14, 23, 89, 40, 46, 45, and 2, of the third day of March, 1927, the twenty-eighth day of July, 1927, the twenty-second day of May, 1930, the twenty-fifth day of February, 1932, the sixth day of April, 1933, the fifth day of December, 1935, the eighteenth day of June, 1936, the sixteenth day of July, 1936, the eighth day of July, 1937, and the twentieth day of January, 1938, respectively, known as the Sewerage Extension Loan Special Rating Area.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in it by the Christchurch District Drainage Amendment Act, 1922, section 5, subsection (f), the Christchurch Drainage Board hereby resolves that the boundaries of the said special area as defined by resolution of the Board dated the seventeenth day of April, 1923, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 37 of the twenty-sixth day of April, 1923, and as altered by resolutions of the Christchurch Drainage Board dated the fifteenth day of February, 1927, the twenty-first day of June, 1927, the sixteenth day of April, 1930, the sixteenth day of February, 1932, the twenty-first day of March, 1933, the nineteenth day of November, 1935, the twenty-sixth day of May, 1936, the twenty-fifth day of June, 1936, the twenty-second day of June, 1937, and the twenty-third day of November, 1937, and published in the New Zealand Gazettes Nos. 11, 54, 37, 14, 23, 89, 40, 46, 45, and 2, of the third day of March, 1927, the twenty-eighth day of July, 1927, the twenty-second day of May, 1930, the twenty-fifth day of February, 1932, the sixth day of April, 1933, the fifth day of December, 1935, the eighteenth day of June, 1936, the sixteenth day of July, 1936, the eighth day of July, 1937, and the twentieth day of January, 1938, respectively (hereinafter referred to as the special area), shall be further altered so as to include in the said special area all that area more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, and further resolves that the said area shall form part of and be included in the subdivision “ B ” of the said special area, and the boundaries of the said Subdivision “ B ” shall be altered accordingly so as to include therein all that area more particularly described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

All that area of land in the Canterbury Land District, being the whole of Lots 3, 4, and 5, and part Lot 6 on Deposit Plan 8452, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Christchurch, and being part of Rural Section 83, situated in Block X, Christchurch Survey District.
