Excluding Streets and Roads from Limitation as to Speed imposed by the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.

IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, the Minister of Transport does hereby exclude the streets and roads described in the Schedule hereto from the limitation as to speed imposed by the said section.

SCHEDULE.

Situated within Balclutha Borough-
Balclutha-Lawrence Main Highway No. 151 (all that portion from its junction with Pakefield Street to the northern boundary of Balclutha Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 18 chains).
Balclutha-Wangaloa Main Highway No. 234 (all that portion from the south-eastern boundary of Balclutha Borough, as now constituted, to a point 5 chains measured along the said main highway in a south-easterly direction from its junction with Christchurch-Dunedin Main Highway, a distance of approximately 60 chains).
Balclutha-Kaka Point Main Highway No. 269 (all that portion from the Government railway-crossing to the southern boundary of Balclutha Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 16 chains).

Situated within Clinton Town District-
Dunedin-Invercargill Main Highway No. 101 (all that portion from its junction with Fetlar Street to the eastern boundary of Clinton Town District, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 25 chains; also all that portion from its junction with Side Street to the northern boundary of Clinton Town District, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 48 chains).

Situated within Geraldine Borough-
Christchurch-Dunedin Main Highway No. 101 (all that portion from its junction with Coles Street to the southern boundary of Geraldine Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 24 chains).
Geraldine-Fairlie Main Highway No. 116 (all that portion from the south-western boundary of Geraldine Borough, as now constituted, to a point 6 chains measured along the said main highway in a south-westerly direction from its junction with the Christchurch-Dunedin Main Highway, a distance of approximately 17 chains).
Cox Street (all that portion from its junction with South Terrace to the south-western boundary of Geraldine Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 20 chains).

Situated within Gore Borough-
Dunedin-Invercargill Main Highway No. 101 (all that portion from its junction with Bury Street to the southern boundary of Gore Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 32 chains).

Situated within Hampden Borough-
Christchurch-Dunedin Main Highway No. 101 (all that portion from its junction with Shrewsbury Street to the northern boundary of Hampden Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 23 chains; also all that portion from the Little Kuri Stream Bridge to the southern boundary of Hampden Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 29 chains).

Situated within Mataura Borough-
Dunedin-Invercargill Main Highway No. 101 (all that portion from its junction with Waimumu Road to the northern boundary of Mataura Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 1 mile 36 chains; also all that portion from the southern boundary of Mataura Borough, as now constituted, to a point 8 chains measured along the said main highway in a south- a distance of approximately 24 chains).
Mataura-Wyndham-Letterbox Main Highway No. 238 (all that portion from its junction with Clyde Street to the southern boundary of Mataura Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 19 chains).
Kana Street (all that portion from its junction with Stuart Street to the eastern boundary of Mataura Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 18 chains).

Situated within Palmerston Borough-
Christchurch-Dunedin Main Highway No. 101 (all that portion commencing at the southern boundary of Palmerston Borough, as now constituted, and terminating at a point 20 chains measured along the road in a north- easterly direction from the said boundary).
Palmerston-Queenstown via Becks Main Highway No. 124 (all that portion from its junction with Brough Street to the northern boundary of Palmerston Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 26 chains).

Situated within Pleasant Point Town District-
Timaru-Queenstown via Tekapo and Lindis Pass Main Highway No. 119 (all that portion from the eastern boundary of Pleasant Point Town District, as now constituted, to a point 5 chains measured along the said main highway in an easterly direction from its junction with George Street, a distance of approximately 42 chains; also all that portion commencing at the western boundary of Pleasant Point Town District, as now constituted, and terminating at a point 20 chains measured along the said main highway in an easterly direction from the said boundary).
Temuka - Pleasant Point Main Highway No. 145 (all that portion from the northern boundary of Pleasant Point Town District, as now constituted, to a point directly opposite the northern boundary of the Pleasant Point School-grounds, a distance of approximately 20 chains).

Situated within Waikouaiti Borough-
Christchurch-Dunedin Main Highway No. 101 (all that portion from the Government railway-crossing to the northern boundary of Waikouaiti Borough, as now constituted, a distance of approximately 24 chains).

Classification of Road in Matamata County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Heavy Motor-vehicle Regulations, 1932, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby revoke that Warrant dated the 5th day of June, 1936, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 39 of the 11th day of June, 1936, at page 1136, in so far as it relates to the classification of the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto, and do hereby approve of the Main Highways Board's proposed classification of the road described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Matamata County.

SCHEDULE.

MATAMATA COUNTY.

Road classified in Class Four : Available for the use thereon of any heavy motor-vehicle (other than a multi-axled heavy motor-vehicle) which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 4Β½ tons, or any multi-axled heavy motor- vehicle which, with the load it is carrying, weighs not more than 6ΒΌ tons:-
Waitoa-Taupo Main Highway No. 19 (all that portion from the eastern boundary of the Putaruru Town District to the south-eastern boundary of the Matamata County).

Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22.-Fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Men's Hairdressers and (2) Tobacconists' Shops within the Borough of Gisborne.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me, from the occupiers of shops in each or one trades of (1) men's hairdresser and (2) tobacconist within the Borough of Gisborne, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22 :
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I, William Lee Martin, acting for the Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on and after the 10th day of January, 938, all the shops in each of the trades of (1) men's hair- dresser and (2) tobacconist, within the said borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows : Subject to closing at not later than the prescribed hour on the day observed as the statutory closing-day, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 6 p.m., and on Fridays at 9 p.m., with the following exceptions-(1) On the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day, and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year's Day, and on the working-day immediately preceding Anniversary Day for the Province of Auckland, there shall be no fixed closing-hour ; (2) should the occupier of any shop affected
