HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint, in terms of section 56 of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, —

Charles Gordon Teschemaker,

to be a member of the Waihopai Rabbit Board established under the said Act, vice Gilbert Arthur Lester, resigned.

Appointment of Members of the Council of the New Zealand School of Agriculture.—(Notice No. Ag. 3524.)

IT is hereby notified for public information that in pursuance of subsection (2) of section 6 of the School of Agriculture Act, 1937 :—

(1) The Board of Governors of the Canterbury Agricultural College has appointed—

Professor Henry George Denham, M.A., D.Sc., Ph.D.,
Professor Frederick William Hilgendorf, M.A., D.Sc., F.R.S., N.Z.,
James Robert Daniel Johns, Esquire, and
William Osborne Rennie, Esquire; and

(2) The Board of Governors of the Massey Agricultural College has appointed—

Ronald Alan Candy, Esquire,
Professor Thomas Alexander Hunter, M.A., M.Sc.,
Arthur Morton, Esquire, and
Henry Bisdee Stuckey, Esquire,

to be members of the Council of the New Zealand School of Agriculture constituted under the said Act.

THE Public Service Commissioners have made the following appointments in the Public Service :—

Gordon Ivan Beeson,

to be Receiver of Land Revenue for the North Auckland Land District for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, as from the 1st day of January, 1938.

Martin Kennedy,

to be an Assistant Registrar of Companies at Auckland for the purposes of the Companies Act, 1933, as from the 10th day of December, 1937.

Sydney Alexander Angell,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Nelson, as from the 24th day of December, 1937.

Walter Oswald Hawke,

to be Deputy Registrar of Births and Deaths of Maoris at Feilding, as from the 4th day of January, 1938.

MEREDITH MAURICE SMITH, Esquire, of 19 Buckingham Street, Strand, London, W.C. 2, England, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Judicature in England, has this day been appointed by the Right Honourable Sir Michael Myers, G.C.M.G., Chief Justice of New Zealand, a Commissioner of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in England under the 47th section of the Judicature Act, 1908, for the purpose of administering and taking all such oaths, affidavits, and affirmations as in the said section mentioned.

Disestablishment of Technical School Board.

Education Department,
Wellington, 18th December, 1937.

IN accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, 1914, and with the powers thereunder, I, Peter Fraser, Minister of Education, do hereby, on the application of the Canterbury Education Board, direct that from the 31st day of December, 1937, the immediate control of the Kaiapoi Technical School shall pass from the Board of Managers to the Canterbury Education Board; and from the aforesaid 31st day of December such Board of Managers shall be and shall be deemed to be dissolved, and that all their property, rights, and liabilities shall thereupon vest in and become the property, rights, and liabilities of the said Education Board.

Revocation of Appointment of Wharf at the Port of Gisborne.

Customs Department,
Wellington, 20th December, 1937.

I, WALTER NASH, Minister of Customs, in exercise of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do hereby revoke the appointment of the wharf described in the Schedule hereto as a wharf at the Port of Gisborne for the lading and unlading of goods.

The Breastwork wharf abutting on Read’s Quay, extending 1,027 ft. southward from Kaiti Bridge.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XIII, Hapuka Survey District, for the Purposes of Buildings of the General Government.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of buildings of the General Government—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Okuru and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
