Land in Taranaki Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924, and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 24th January, 1938.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 26th January, 1938, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease and mortgage fees, deposit in reduction of weighting for improvements, and proportionate part of insurance on buildings.
SCHEDULE.
TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Waitomo County.—Totoro Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for 3 years.* )
SECTION 6, Block IX : Area, 134 acres 0 roods 30 perches. Capital value, £135. Half-yearly rent, £2 14s.
Weighted with £302 for improvements, comprising dwelling, wool-shed, cow-byre, shed, 180 chains fencing, 50 acres felled and burned, and 30 acres cultivated. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £2, the balance may be secured on first mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of twenty-five years with interest at the rate ruling at date of selection. The cost of preparing and registering the mortgage (£3 1s.) must be paid immediately an application is declared successful. A remission of interest will be allowed for two years provided the improvements required to earn the rental exemption are effected.
A sheep grazing farm situated on the Totoro Road, six miles from the Aria Post-office, School, Dairy Factory, and Saleyards and thirty miles from Te Kuiti Railway-station. Access is by thirty miles metalled road from Te Kuiti. The soil is loam resting on clay and limestone formation; poorly watered by springs. Ragwort is prevalent with gorse and blackberry evident.
- Rental exemption for three years is conditional on improvements to the value of at least £25 being effected annually during the exemption period.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on optional tenure under the Land Act, 1924 ; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, 20th January, 1938.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Dunedin, on Friday, 21st January, 1938, at 11 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Vincent County.—Haast Survey District.
SECTION 1, Block XII : Area, 5 acres.* Capital value, £50. Deposit on deferred payments, £5 ; Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £1 9s. 3d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £1.
- The area is subject to slight variation on completion of survey.
The section is situated on the Makarora – Haast Pass Road, about fifteen miles from Makarora at the head of Lake Wanaka. The land is open and comprises part of an area known as Cameron’s Flat.
