THE DUNEDIN CITY CORPORATION.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the provisions of section 22 of the Public Works Act, 1928, the Dunedin City Council proposes to take for the purpose of executing a certain public work—namely, the extending of Laing Street in the City of Dunedin—all that parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto: And notice is also hereby given that a plan showing such parcel of land is deposited in the office of the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Dunedin, and may be inspected between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Saturdays and Sundays excepted):

And, further, that all persons having any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said parcel of land are required to set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Town Clerk, Dunedin.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land, situated in the City of Dunedin, containing 2·23 perches, be the same a little more or less, and coloured red on a proclamation plan of part of Section 19, Block VI, Town District, deposited in the Lands and Survey Office at Dunedin, as Number T 240.

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court was on the 5th day of November, 1937, presented to the said Court by Leo Lichenstein and Max Paykel, both of Auckland, Merchants, and that the said petition is directed to be heard before the Court sitting at Auckland on the 17th day of December, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to support or oppose the making of an order on the said petition may appear at the time of hearing in person or by his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same by the undersigned on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 232 of the Companies Act, 1923, that a general meeting of the members of the above company will be held at the registered office of the company, 99 Queen Street, Auckland, on Thursday, the 23rd day of December, 1937, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon for the purpose of placing before members the winding up accounts reporting on the winding up and deciding upon the disposal of the company’s property.

GREY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL SECURITY RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Grey Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

“That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £15,000, authorized to be raised by the Grey Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing additional moneys for the further reticulation of the Grey Electric-power District, the said Grey Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ·0928d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis of the capital value) in the Grey Electric-power District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of not more than 25 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

I hereby certify that the following is a true copy of the resolution made by the Grey Electric-power Board on the 25th day of November, 1937.

HEREBY convene a general meeting of Messrs. Marshall and Sons, Ltd., Whangarei (in voluntary Liquidation), to be held at the office of Messrs.
