RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1926, the Rangitikei County Council hereby resolves as follows:-

" That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Rangitikei County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of being applied towards the cost of reforming and culverting and metalling for the first time on the Mangahoe Road from its junction with the Mangatipona Road at the Turakina River to the end of the metal opposite Section 56, Block 1, Ongo Survey District; on the Mangatipona Road from the end of the metal at Bird Grove to its junction with the Mangahoe Road; and on the Turakina River Road from its junction with the Mangahoe Road northwards to the end of the metal, the said Rangitikei County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-fifths of a penny (2/5d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Mangahoe Road Special Rating Area No. 2 of the Rangitikei County bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the Mangahoe Road at the south-east corner of Section 62, Paraekaretu Block, Block I, Ongo Survey District; thence in a northerly and again in a westerly direction by the eastern and northern boundaries of the said Section 62 and the northern boundary of Section 61, Block IV, Wangaehu Survey District to the western boundary of Section 64; thence in a northerly direction by the western boundary of the said Section 64 to the Omango Valley Road; thence generally in a westerly direction by the said road to the eastern boundary of Section N.R. 129; thence in a northerly direction by the eastern boundary of the said Section N.R. 129 and the eastern boundary of Section 93; and again in a southerly and again in a southerly direction by the northern and western boundaries of the said Section 93 to the said Omango Valley Road; thence again generally in a westerly direction by the said road to the eastern boundary of Section 73, Block III, Wangaehu Survey District; thence in a southerly and again in a westerly and again in a northerly direction by the eastern, southern, and western boundaries of the said Section 73 to the Turakina Valley Road; thence generally in a north-westerly direction by the said road to the north-east boundary of Section 81; thence in a north-westerly direction by the said north-east boundary to the Turakina River; thence generally in a south-westerly direction by the said river to the north-east boundary of Section 4, Mangatipona East Block, Block II, Wangaehu Survey District; thence in a north-westerly direction by the said north-east boundary and again in a south-westerly direction by the north-west boundaries of Sections 4, 6, and 7, Mangatipona East Block, and again in a south-easterly direction by the south-west boundary of the said Section 7, to the Turakina River; thence by the said river to a point on the western boundary of Section CCXLVIII, Rangitikei District, whereby a direct line drawn through the said Section CCXLVIII to its eastern boundary and parallel to its southern boundary will include an area of 262½ acres of the said Section CCXLVIII in the special-rating area; thence by the said direct line and by the western, southern, and eastern boundaries of Section CCXLVII, Rangitikei District, Block VII, Wangaehu Survey District, to the south-west boundary of Section 4, Paraekaretu Block, Block III, Wangaehu Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction by the south-west boundaries of the said Section 4 and of Section 5, and in an easterly direction by the southern boundaries of Section 6, Block III, Wangaehu Survey District, and of Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 59, and 60, Block IV, Wangaehu Survey District, and the southern boundary of Section 56, Block I, Ongo Survey District, to a point on such southern boundary whereby a direct line drawn through the said Section 56 in a northerly direction and parallel to its western boundary to the Mangahoe Road will include an area of 312 acres 0 roods 20 perches of the said Section 56 in the special-rating area; thence in a northerly direction by the said direct line to the Mangahoe Road; thence in a north-easterly direction by the said road to the point of commencement, as the said area is more particularly shown on the map attached to the ratepayers' consent to the said loan and thereon bordered red, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable yearly on the first day of May in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off."

I hereby certify that the above is a true and correct copy of the resolution passed by the Rangitikei County Council at its meeting held in the Coronation Hall, William Street, Marton, on the 28th day of October, 1937.
