CROWN LANDS NOTICES.
Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 13th October, 1937.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 22nd November, 1937.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 24th November, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.
Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.
The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and deposit in reduction of improvement loading.

SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hokianga County.—Punakitere Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.*)
SECTION 2, Block XIV: Area, 521 acres. Capital value, £400.
*Exempt from payment of rent and interest for two years conditional on improvements being effected to the value of £100 per annum in addition to the ordinary improvements required under the lease.
Weighted with £1,000 for improvements, consisting of a dwelling of four rooms, milking-shed, 200 acres cleared and grassed, boundary and subdivisional fencing. The amount is payable in cash or by a deposit of £50, and the balance (£950) over thirty-six years and a half by instalments of principal and interest combined amounting to £28 10s. per half-year.
This property is situated on Gammons Road, eighteen miles from Kaikohe Railway-station, Post-office, Dairy Factory, and Saleyards, by a good metalled road; two miles from the school. Easy and undulating country; 200 acres felled, burned and sown, now reverting but carrying some rough feed, 221 acres fern and scrub, 100 acres green bush.
Special Condition.—No timber of any description to be disposed of from the property without the authority of the Land Board, which may impose such conditions as it considers necessary.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned sections are open for selection on optional tenures under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 22nd November, 1937.
Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 24th November, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Stratford County.—Ngatimaru Survey District.
SECTIONS 8 and 9, Block XIV: Area, 400 acres. Capital value, £225. Deposit on deferred payments, £15. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £6 16s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £4 10s.
Weighted with £750 for improvements, comprising dwelling, wool-shed, cow-byre, 210 chains fencing, 270 acres felled and grassed, 50 acres cleared and stumped. This sum is payable in cash, or may be secured by way of first mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of fifteen years. Instalments (principal and interest combined) payable quarterly with interest at the rate ruling as at date of selection.
A grazing property situated on the Taihore Road, one mile and a half from Strathmore Post-office, three miles from Huiakama School, and seven miles from Douglas Railway-station, Dairy Factory, and Saleyards. Access is by metalled road from Stratford. The area comprises about 50 acres ploughable, balance easy to steep hills, and the section is subdivided into ten paddocks. The soil consists of light loam resting on sandstone formation; watered by streams. Ragwort is prevalent.

SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Ohura County.—Heao Survey District.
(National Endowment.)
SECTION 7, Block VII: Area, 509 acres. Capital value, £255. Deposit on deferred payments, £15. Half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £7 16s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £5 2s.
Weighted with £210 for improvements, comprising dwelling, yards, 200 chains fencing, and 200 acres felled and grassed. This sum is payable in cash, or may be secured by way of first mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of twenty years. Instalments (principal and interest combined) payable quarterly with interest at the rate ruling as at date of selection.
A grazing property situated on the Opatu Road, two miles and a half from the Opatu Post-office and ten miles from Tokirima School and Railway-station. The area comprises about 2 acres flat land, the remainder being hilly to steep and broken, with birch bush on the ridges—approximately one-third of the area is shady. The section, which is subdivided into six paddocks, was originally well grassed, but has now reverted to fern. The soil is a light loam resting on papa, clay, and sandstone formation; watered by streams and springs. Foxglove and ragwort are in evidence.
