SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—ROTORUA FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 13,720 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks VII, VIII, XI, and XII, Waihi South Survey District, and Blocks II and III, Rotoma Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 3, Block VII, Waihi South Survey District; thence towards the north by S.G.R. No. 10A 1, Section 4, Block VIII, Waihi South Survey District, the crossing of a public road, the Pikowai Stream, and a reserve along its right bank, and by that reserve and parts of S.G.R. No. 10A 2; towards the east by a reserve along the left bank of the Herepuru Stream; thence towards the south by Section 1, Block XII, and Section 1, Block XI, Waihi South Survey District, and a public road; towards the east and north by Section 1, Block XI, Waihi South Survey District; towards the east by Sections 2 and 4, Block IV, Rotoma Survey District; towards the south by Section 6, Block IV, and Section 6, Block III, Rotoma Survey District, and the crossing of Pukemaku Road; towards the east by Pukemaku Road; towards the south by Section 3, Block III, and Section 6, the crossing of the Wairoa Valley Road and Section 3, Block II, Rotoma Survey District; towards the west by Hannon’s Road, and Section 1, Block II, Rotoma Survey District; towards the north by Section 1A, Block X, Waihi South Survey District, and the Wairoa Valley Road; again towards the west by Section 1A aforesaid; towards the north and east by Section 6, Block VI, Waihi South Survey District; and again towards the west by Tahunaroa No. 3A Block and Lot 10 on plan No. 8636, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, to the point of commencement; save and excepting all intersecting public roads and river-bank reserves within the above-described area.

Also all that area in the Auckland Land District containing by admeasurement 5,908 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks IX and X, Waihi South Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north by Lot 1 of Section 9, Block IX, Waihi South Survey District, the crossing of the Pongakawa–Rotoehu Road, and by that road; towards the west by the said road; towards the north by Section 9A of aforesaid Block IX, and Section 4s, Hereford Park Settlement; towards the east by Hannon’s Road; towards the north by the crossing of that road and Lot 2 on plan No. 13994, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; towards the east by a reserve along the left bank of the Waitahanui River; towards the south by Section 1, Block X, Waihi South Survey District, Section 1, Block II, Rotoma Survey District, a public road, the Pongakawa–Rotoehu Road, the crossing of that road, Lot 1 of Section 4, and part of Section 4, Block I, Rotoma Survey District; and towards the west by a reserve along the right bank of the Pongakawa River; save and excepting two intersecting public roads.

As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 31/1, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland plan S.O. 29082.)

Confering Special Jurisdiction on the Native Land Court.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 27th day of July, 1937.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section thirty-four of the Native Land Act, 1931, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby confer on the Native Land Court jurisdiction to hear and determine, as between Natives, any claim to the ownership or possession of any personal property which was in the possession, order, or disposition of one Harawira Huriwai, of Rangitukia, in the Tairawhiti Native Land Court District, Aboriginal Native, at or about the time of his death, with power and jurisdiction to make such order or orders as the circumstances of the case may require.

Conferring on Waitaki County Council certain Powers of Borough Councils with respect to Waterworks.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 27th day of July, 1937.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by section one hundred and eighty-two of the Counties Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in his behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made on the thirteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 11 of the sixteenth day of the same month, conferring on the Waitaki County Council certain powers of Borough Councils under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, with respect to waterworks; and doth hereby, with the like advice and consent, confer on the aforesaid County Council all the powers with respect to the supply of water for domestic or industrial purposes exercisable by a duly constituted Borough Council under sections eighty-two to eighty-four, eighty-six to eighty-eight, Part XX (with the exception of sections two hundred and fifty-one and two hundred and fifty-four), and section three hundred and forty-six of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, but subject to the restriction that such powers, with the exception of the powers conferred by section two hundred and fifty-three, shall be exercisable only over that portion of the County of Waitaki described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the right bank of the Waitaki River, in line with the northern side of Ferguson Street, Town of Kurow; thence north-westerly along the northern side of Ferguson Street to the eastern side of Robinson Street; thence northerly along the eastern side of Robinson Street to the south-eastern side of Grey Street; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of Grey Street to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block VI, Town of Kurow; thence to and along the south-western boundaries of Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Block VI aforesaid, to the south-eastern side of Hobson Street; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern side of Hobson Street and that line produced to the right bank of the Waitaki River; thence south-easterly along the right bank of the Waitaki River to the point of commencement.

Extending the Open Season for the taking or killing of Opossums, Ashburton Acclimatization District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of July, 1937.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Order in Council made under the said Act, dated the twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, and appearing in New Zealand Gazette No. 29 of the third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, at page 1089, by deleting the words “1st August” appearing under the heading “Ashburton Acclimatization District” in the Schedule to such Order in Council, and contained in Condition No. 1 under the said heading, and by inserting in lieu thereof the words “1st September.” And all licenses issued to take or kill opossums in the Ashburton Acclimatization District under the authority of the said Order in Council are hereby extended until noon on the said first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven.
