Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 14th June, 1937.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Otaki Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

BOROUGH OF OTAKI.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Otaki taken on the 4th day of June, 1937, on the proposal of the Otaki Borough Council to borrow the sum of seven thousand pounds for the purpose of building a Municipal Theatre—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was.. 210
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 40

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Approving of Red Reflectors for Bicycles in terms of the Traffic Regulations, 1936.
IN terms of Regulation 21, clause (2), of the Traffic Regulations, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve for the purposes of the said regulation of the red reflectors of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto.

Approving of Red Rear Reflector for Bicycles in terms of the Traffic Regulations, 1936.
IN terms of Regulation 21, clause (2), of the Traffic Regulations, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve for the purposes of the said regulations of the red reflector of the make and type described in the Schedule hereto, in addition to those described by Warrant published in the Gazette of the 4th day of March, 1937, at page 505.

Declaring Area to be a Closely Populated Locality for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare the area described in the Schedule hereto to be a closely populated locality for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE.
SITUATED within Taranaki County—
All that area adjoining Lepperton Junction—Hawera via Opunake Main Highway No. 36 from the eastern boundary of New Plymouth Borough as now constituted to the junction of the main highway with Smart Road.

Declaring Areas to be Closely Populated Localities for the Purposes of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, Section 3.
IN terms of section 3 of the Motor-vehicles Amendment Act, 1936, I, Robert Semple, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare the respective areas described in the Schedule hereto to be closely populated localities for the purposes of the said section to the intent that a person driving any motor-vehicle on any road, street, or other place to which the public have access therein shall be subject to the maximum speed-limit of thirty miles an hour fixed by the said section.
SCHEDULE.
SITUATED within Halswell County—
All that area adjoining Christchurch—Akaroa Main Highway No. 109 from the south-western boundary of Christchurch City as now constituted to the junction of the main highway with Tankerville Road, a distance of approximately 23 chains.
SITUATED within Waimairi County—
All that area adjoining Christchurch—Blenheim via Parnassus Main Highway No. 101 from the northern boundary of Christchurch City as now constituted to the bridge crossing the Government railway at Styx, a distance of approximately 1 mile 70 chains.
All that area adjoining Christchurch—Blenheim via Parnassus Main Highway No. 101 at Belfast from the junction of the main highway with Englefield Road to the junction of the main highway with Factory Road, a distance of approximately 1 mile 7 chains.
All that area adjoining Christchurch—Dunedin Main Highway No. 101 from the western boundary of Riccarton Borough as now constituted to the junction of the main highway with Upper Riccarton—Arthurs Pass Main Highway No. 106, a distance of approximately 57 chains.
All that area known as Fendalton, bounded to the east by the western boundary of Christchurch City as now constituted, to the south by the northern boundary of Riccarton Borough as now constituted, and Christchurch—Dunedin Main Highway No. 101 between Riccarton Borough and Ilam Road, and to the west and north by Ilam Road and Webb’s Road, but exclusive of those roads.

All that area at Amberley adjoining that portion of Ashley—Amberley Main Highway No. 149 known as Douglas Street and Markham Street commencing at the junction of Douglas Street and Lawcocks Road and terminating at the junction of Markham Street and Christchurch—Blenheim via Parnassus Main Highway No. 101.
