THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
[No. 33

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a borough under the said Act; that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Opunake; and that the number of Councillors to be elected to the Council of the said borough shall be six, exclusive of the Mayor:

And I do further proclaim and declare that Clennell Nelson Thayer, of Opunake, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough; and that the said Clennell Nelson Thayer shall be the Town Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors roll for the purposes of the said first election:

And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held on Friday, the eighteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, and that the first meeting of the Council of the said borough shall be held on Thursday, the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, at half past seven o’clock in the afternoon, in the office of the Town Board, Opunake.

SCHEDULE.

BOROUGH OF OPUNAKE.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, bounded on the south-west generally by the sea from the mouth of the Waiaua Stream to the mouth of the Otahi Stream; thence up the left bank of the Otahi Stream to the south-western boundary of Section 35, Block IX, Opunake Survey District; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundary of said Section 35 to the right bank of the Waiaua Stream, and down the right bank of that stream to the sea, the point of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 17th day of May, 1937.

Change of Name of “Waari Hamlet” to “Sunnyvale,” County of Waitemata.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is considered expedient that the name of the locality known as “Waari Hamlet,” in the County of Waitemata, should be changed to “Sunnyvale”:

Now, therefore, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Designation of Districts Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the locality known as “Waari Hamlet,” in the County of Waitemata, shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Sunnyvale,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such locality accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-seven, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 11th day of November, 1936.

Land in the Otago Land District proclaimed as ceasing to be set apart as National-endowment Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and two of the Land Act, 1924, as amended by section ten of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1926, it is enacted that on the disposal of any national-endowment land by way of sale, or on the acquisition of the fee-simple of any such land, the Governor-General may by Proclamation declare that such land shall, as from a date to be specified in the Proclamation, cease to be national-endowment land:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto has been disposed of by way of sale on deferred payments and it is expedient that the said land should cease to be national-endowment land:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the aforesaid section three hundred and two of the Land Act, 1924, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, which was set apart as national-endowment land under the provisions of section two hundred and fifty-eight of the Land Act, 1908, ceased to be national-endowment land as from the fourteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-six.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 7, Block I, Benmore Survey District: Area, 748 acres.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of May, 1937.

Crown Land set apart as a Permanent State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921-22, I, George Vere Arundell, Viscount Galway, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a permanent State forest.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 700 acres, more or less, being Waihou B Nos. 1, 2, and 3 Blocks, and situated in Block I, Omapere Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 5/20, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. (N.I.C. plan 9055.)

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 10th day of May, 1937.
