Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 22nd March, 1937.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 26th April, 1937.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, on Wednesday, 28th April, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

Applicants are required to produce for inspection when examined documentary evidence of their financial position, such as bank pass-books, certificates or letters of credit from managers of banks, financial institutions, or mercantile firms, or from private persons or parents undertaking to give financial assistance. Persons undertaking to assist financially should state to what extent they are prepared to do so and supply guarantees of their own financial position.

The ballot will be held immediately upon conclusion of the examination of applicants, and the successful applicant is required to pay immediately at conclusion of ballot a deposit comprising the first half-year’s rent, broken-period rent, lease fee, and amount of improvement loading.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Otorohanga County.—Pirongia Survey District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for five years.*)

SECTION 17, Block X: Area, 388 acres. Capital value, £390; half-yearly rent, £7 16s.

Weighted with £20 (payable in cash) for improvements, comprising dwelling of three rooms and a cow-shed.

A mixed farming and grazing property situated on the Kawhia–Pirongia Road one mile from Ngutunui School and nineteen miles from Te Awamutu Railway-station and Dairy Factory; access by metalled road. Easy to undulating country with a few small gullies. Approximately 325 acres felled and grassed (almost totally reverted), balance in natural state of standing bush. Ragwort requires attention.

  • After payment of the required deposit no rent will be charged for a period of five years provided that a sum equivalent to the concession granted is expended each year in effecting permanent improvements to the land.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is open for selection on renewable lease under the Land Act, 1924; and applications will be received at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Monday, 26th April, 1937.

Applicants should appear personally for examination at the District Lands and Survey Office, New Plymouth, on Wednesday, 28th April, 1937, at 10.30 a.m., but if any applicant is unable to attend he may be examined by any other Land Board or by any Commissioner of Crown Lands.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Ohura County.—Ohura Survey District.

(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.*)

SECTION 2, Block XI: Area, 891 acres. Capital value, £670; half-yearly rent, £13 8s.

  • After payment of the required deposit an exemption from payment of rent will be allowed for a period of two years provided improvements to the value of £150 are effected annually during the exemption period.

Weighted with £782 for improvements, comprising dwelling, stable, wool-shed, cow-byre, shed and yards, 535 chains fencing, approximately 575 acres felling and grassing, and approximately 40 acres cultivated. This sum is payable in cash, or, after payment of a deposit of £12, the balance may be secured by way of a first mortgage to the State Advances Corporation for a term of thirty years with interest at the rate ruling as at date of selection. Costs of preparation of the mortgage (£4 11s.) must be paid immediately an application is declared successful. A remission of interest payable under the mortgage will be allowed for a period of two years provided the improvements required to gain the rental exemption are effected. The instalments under the mortgage are payable quarterly.

Situated on the Turoto Road five miles from the Ohura Post-office, five miles and a half from the Ohura School and Railway-station, and seven miles from Ohura Saleyards. Cream is collected at the gate. Access is from Ohura by six miles metalled road and one mile clay road. The property, which is suitable for sheep and cattle farming with a limited number of dairy cows, is subdivided into five paddocks and is watered by springs and creeks. The contour varies from flat easy to steep hills—about 100 acres ploughable. About 575 acres felled and grassed and in fair order. Ragwort spreading, with a sprinkling of blackberry.

NOTICE is hereby given that WALTER EDWIN SOUSTER, of Francis Street, Takapuna, Builder, was this day adjudged bankrupt; and I hereby summon a meeting of creditors to be held at my office, Law Court Building, High Street, Auckland, on Friday, the 2nd day of April, 1937, at 10.30 o’clock a.m.

APPLICATION having been made to me to register a re-entry by HIS MAJESTY THE KING the lessor under Memorandum of Lease No. 14669 affecting parts Sections 2 and 11, Block VIII, Opaku Survey District, and being part of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 69, folio 10, whereof WALTER WEBB, of Moeawatea, Labourer, is the registered lessee, notice is hereby given that I shall register such re-entry as requested after the expiration of one month from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.
